FishDuck Foaming Over Upside of 2026 Diamond Ducks
I saw the other day that Indiana was projected 5th in the B1G in baseball, Oregon was 2nd. But this might be a factor for the Hoosiers. They needed to at least get some ground ball workouts in the other day outside instead of the Indoor Football Stadium. I guess from the photo, there was no outfield workouts. Most of that snow should be melted now, it was 66° on Tuesday.

2026 BIG Info, Predictions, Etc.
Some additional information on that IU transfer portal QB from TCU ... he has seemed to have shrunk since moving from Dallas to Bloomington. In a matter of a month Josh Hoover went from 6'2 200 pounds (TCU Measurement) to 6'0 and 194 pounds. (Indiana Measurement) That will be quite a difference compared to their last QB that was 6'5.

Know Your Opponent (Cignetti)
Indianan's Cignetti is an interesting coach and man. This 30 minute interview is very informative and might give you an insight to "the enemy" and a comparison to what you have heard from Dan Lanning. He also talks about college football in general. Know Your Opponent

Oregon Football: Early 2026 Ranking Projections
Interesting to see that both Oregon and Indiana each have 6 returning starting players on defense and offense.

College Football Playoff Announces Quarterfinal, Semifinal Dates, Bowl Sites for 2026, 2027
#5 Oregon was the only one of twelve teams west of the Rockies. After winning your home game, they could/should have been in the Rose Bowl with IU and Bama playing in Dallas. That would not have mattered to IU fans nor Bama fans. You beat IU and could/would play in Phoenix instead of Atlanta. With Miami keeping their championship game. #1 Indiana could have played in New Orleans only because the semi's were in Atlanta. Then Atlanta and Miami #6 Ole Miss/#3 Georgia would have had no choice but two games in Atlanta if IU was in New Orleans. #2 Ohio State would have had no choice but to play in Dallas. Logistics and Marketing for the cities would stay close to the same since they do not know any sooner than us, who the teams are. Under the 2025 playoffs, Vegas is not listed, but they should be in the list of six cities that rotate from year to year. Pasadena would be skipped every year for the championship game due to their need/requirement/wants to remain on January 1. Or keep them in the 6 city rotation no matter the date and then every January 1 invite the top two teams that feel they were screwed out of the playoffs .to the Rose Bowl game .. ie: BYU vs Notre Dame game. Bottom line, Oregon fans will have to travel more times east of the Rockies no matter what if you want to win a natty. Like in 2024 when they asked Cignetti before his game against UCLA in the Rose Bowl as a regular season game ... "we don't care where we play, we can play it in a parking lot if they want to."

College Football - Anything Goes
It is totally sickening what has happened to college football and basketball because lawsuits an judges run the show now. What can be done about it without being sued? That idea of 5 years to play 4 is looking pretty good now.

College Football Playoff Announces Quarterfinal, Semifinal Dates, Bowl Sites for 2026, 2027
Having the Rose Bowl on any other day besides January 1st is criminal IMO. Barely one of the last college football traditions that still exist, even though the matchups are different.

QUAAAAK, Another DL From the Portal
An interesting question with this news. Will IU's OOC schedule be ridiculed again this year since they play Howard? Honestly I didn't even know Howard had a football team. I have no idea if there is a friend, ex assistant or a connection of some sort to Cignetti for them to play Howard. Sometimes there is a connection like that even in basketball. Cignetti said yesterday when ask by Urban Meyer on a podcast about his OOC ... "I play who the AD tells me to play". So with this DL from Howard coming to Oregon, will IU's OOCs now be more legit?

National Signing Day: See the Oregon Ducks 2026 Recruiting Class
After watching the 2 hour show on the BTN about signing day yesterday ... I had to go out to my garage to get my hip wadders when Lincoln Riley showed up on the tv. I put the remote on pause while I did that. UCS #1 recruiting class??? Overall, the B10 is going to be brutal again next year. IMO there might even be a 2-loss team make the B10 championship game. Luckily the $EC playing 9 games MIGHT help some in the non-$EC CFP teams but that will also be an annual battle of the bias media. Really only 11 CFP spots available with the "automatic bid" to the Irish in rewarding them for their weak schedule. Should be some exciting football games. Look for last seasons's losing teams to play better due to their coaching hires. All those new hires seem to be better than those they are placing. I also had to put the wadders back on this morning while watching Chip Kelly's interview yesterday from Northwestern. Sorry, Kelly fans.

National Signing Day: See the Oregon Ducks 2026 Recruiting Class
Since the photo shows IU I guess I will reply with some updates as of yesterday. For the 3rd class in a row the Cignetti's number of Transfer Portal players has decreased each year. He is done for the year. He was asked yesterday about 4 and 5 star players now wanting to play at IU. Curt Cignetti expressed that while the influx of 4 and 5-star recruits is exciting, he remains focused on selecting players who fit the program's culture and work ethic, stating he would turn away talent if their commitment isn't there. He emphasized that the core values of improving daily and maintaining the right fit for the team will not change.

National Signing Day: See the Oregon Ducks 2026 Recruiting Class
I know it's just a small thing but "Indy" just drives me insane at times. 😂 Indy means two things, Indianapolis and the Indy500 Race ... is never associated with IU or Indiana University. Not a slam, nor a joke, just a FYI.

Greg Sankey, Where Are You?
I haven't heard a word from Greg since Selection Sunday. Does someone need to call in a welfare check?

Raiola's Timeline for Recovery
Whenever I see the name Riaola I can't get the picture out of my head. I sat there on a nice sunny Saturday afternoon in Bloomington and watched him throw 44 times and 3 interceptions. Granted his OL was being rushed liked crazy with Bryant's Haines's defense but a couple of those interceptions were just bad bad QB decisions. I have discussed him on X with other Duck fans (any of them here under a different name?) and I am just not that sold on him even with a great Oregon OL and a year to learn the system. But I am not a full time coach, just an old arm-chair QB expert I guess.

I am curious if anyone knows what the Ducks will spend in NIL money for their 2026 team.

OFF TOPICS: For Your Interest (8)
Clif Marshall was the Strength and Condition Coach for Indiana's basketball team after his time working with the Cincinnati Bengals. I need all the recovery I can get at my age but I might have to pass on the recovery shoe that the Ducks will be wearing even with a high recommendation by an ex IU coach. 😎

B1G Broadcast Partner CBS Ranks the 2026 Scheules
I have not read Joel Klatt's article yet but will. Your comment caught my eye about OSU, Michigan and Northwestern schedules. You know me, you're missing IU ... 😂 IU goes to Michigan, Washington and Nebraska. They play Ohio State, USC and Minnesota at home. Granted NOWHERE near as hard as Northwestern's schedule but there are at least 4 games there that could be a loss. But now looking at Michigan's schedule I see your point about leaving Indiana off your list of difficult schedules.

Ducks Are Big Winners of BIG Schedule Release
Oregon has lowered the SOS for OOC games for IU. They had scheduled North Texas before all of this movement. LOL .. one interesting thing is North Texas signed a QB in the portal that started at IU two years ago when Rourke was injured and had surgery on his passing hand thumb. I agree with you Jon ... that Oklahoma State game will be interesting. I wonder if they can get that large number of portal players playing well enough to battle a team as good as Oregon, who might be ranked #1 by that 2nd game for each team. People can say well if Cignetti brought 15 JMU players and played well in their second game ... ONE BIG difference. OSU is playing a possible 2026 National Champion Oregon Ducks ... while those 15 JMU players were racking up 73 points against some team called Western Illinois. 😂 I think from what I saw last year, North Texas was a very good team, high scoring ... beat Washington State and Navy .. but that team is not the new Oklahoma State team. IMO it does not matter if they a great staff, good players from NT and OSU ... they will have not faced a defense anything like Oregons. Could it be a shoot out? Last team that has the ball wins? For that to happen OSU's high paced and passing game would have to have time to throw the ball. I don't see that happening. It might be close for a half since it is the 2nd game of the season for both teams but overall I see Oregon blowing them out. The Oregon defensive front will be too much for anything that Oklahoma State can line up as an OL. Oregon will also play another similar game vs UCLA. Chesney has brought 15-17 JMU players with him. No doubt UCLA will be a better team on both sides of the ball than they were last year. By the time that game is played both teams will have played 4 games. I think that will be a more interesting game than the Oklahoma State game.

Transfer Portal Interests to Ducks (4)
Your own QB passed for 305 yards and 2 TDs against his defense. I have to wonder where Perich was on that 23 yard TD pass by Darius Taylor?

Football Is Over, Baseball Is Around The Corner And Basketball Is A Hot Mess
Keep an eye on that coach at St Louis. When he left Indiana State I didn't know if he was 'big time" although ISU was a good team, a tourney team. I think this year he has proven that the big name teams are going to come after him if they need a coaching replacement. Not sure he could recruit on the west coast but he seems to know how in the Midwest. NIL and this NBA stuff has changed everything. I am sure that has taken a toll on DA. As far as teams ... there are times, great or good players don't blend well enough to make a team. Chemistry is bad in the locker room and that is really hard to fix, especially in today's environment. This just might be a year that all teams go though ... "they didn't mess" ... It happens. Then the more you lose the more you don't care.

Why Whether Dyer Was Down or Not…Doesn’t Matter
Or how Beck in a split second decided to underthrow a pass that I think would have scored a winning TD if he had thrown it to the goal line corner of the end zone. Not back of the end zone just across the goal line. Not sure why but it's interesting that #6 blocking the Miami punt was not #17 that blocked the Oregon punt. #17 was not injured in the Miami game. They both played that same position. I agree with you though, that split second decision to let him pass by outside was strange to me. The only other IU player rushing was being double teamed...

Transfer Portal Interests to Ducks (4)
As of today, January 30th, it was mentioned on an IU forum that IU is done with the portal for this year. Counting incoming and red shirt Freshman, they will have a total of 47 in their Freshman class that were recruited the past two years, on their 2026 team. He has filled what holes were needed with some major P4 portal players.

It's B1G! For any of You Forum Hosers Who Want to Watch Big Ten Hockey, Eh
When living in the country of Whidbey Island WA and no US tv reception, the Canadian tv channels came in perfect. I started my first hockey addiction every Saturday night with "Hockey Night in Canada" with Don Cherry. Besides going to Vancouver for NHL games we found going to Seattle much easier to watch the Junior League Seattle Thunderbirds.

Ducks Are Big Winners of BIG Schedule Release
From an IU fan, I have never agreed with B10 scheduling since they split to two uneven divisions. Even now their scheduling still sucks and is shocking because computer/AI could do it all. What I found in my research today and posted under a different post ... Once the schedules are in draft form they are given to the schools for negotiation and approval before they are released. Granted those schools may not have much power in their negotiations but when the dust settles, the schools have approved them. Does that mean some approve and are still not happy? Hard to say unless we are in the room. As far as "short changed", I have never figured why they do that because the new schools are not going anywhere for years so why are they paid less than the older B1G schools? Yet, it is still fact, even knowing you would be short changed financially that was probably more than you were going to make with the Pac12 on AppleTV. Basically this new schedule has given Penn State a 2026 B10 Championship ... I mean even the 2020 IU team could have been undefeated with that schedule. 😂

Ducks Are Big Winners of BIG Schedule Release
IU drove to campus to play Purdue. They didn't play anyone the next week because it is always their last game of the year, when they play Purdue. I get you point but you must of missed my "this is all in a joking manner btw" I only brought up my examples about bad weather in November.
