  1. Oregon falls 8-6... And if you're going to come in here and vent--I'll delete it. If I don't see you post when we are winning--I don't want to see your ragging posts when we lose. Don't be a bandwagon fan...be loyal, no matter what.
  2. 5-4 Ducks after seven innings as Featherston got into trouble, but freshman Oregon pitcher Kellan Knox came in and generated a double-play to bail OBD out!
  3. 5-4 Ducks after six innings. Featherston got a 1-2-3 inning, as I hold my breath...
  4. 4-4 after four innings. We have Ryan Featherston in the game pitching for the Ducks, and considering his challenges this year--wouldn't it would be cool if he could rescue Our Beloved Ducks for the series win? Maddox Molony hit ANOTHER Homer?
  5. 3-1 Buckeyes after two innings. The bad pitching day has infected Oregon starter for game three, Will Sanford, as well.
  6. Funny how we only hear from some people when we lose…
  7. Ohio State wins 11-10...a pretty bad loss on our pitchers.
  8. 11-10 Ohio State after eight innings. Oregon went to its closer, Cole Stokes, and even he was throwing wild pitches and getting hit. Not good...
  9. 10-8 Ducks after seven innings, as the Buckeyes did not get a hit, but scored two runs on wild pitches by both Garcia and Jason Reitz who is in there in relief. So frustrating...and this game is getting dicey as both squads search for a pitcher who can stop the other team. Nice to see Jacob Walsh hitting homers again...
  10. 9-6 Ducks after six innings, as Oregon calls on Santiago Garcia who puts the Buckeyes down 1-2-3! Santiago Garcia
  11. 9-6 Ducks after five innings. Coach Waz did bring Umlandt back, and although he gave up hits--he got a scoreless inning. Meanwhile, Maddox Molony is having an incredible game at the plate with a second home run, and five RBIs!
  12. 7-6 Ducks after four innings. Geez...the Ohio State batters got a bead on our pitching, as they are even hitting Umlandt well. I would not be surprised if another Oregon pitcher is brought in immediately since we are so deep with pitchers. Find someone who can stop the bleeding!
  13. My mistake: it is 7-5 Ducks after three innings. I cannot believe they brought Clarke back in, and the Buckeye batters are just killing him. They finally pulled him after no outs and bases loaded! Oregon brought out our best reliever in the "Pride of Sherwood," Ian Umlandt, but I thought he would be our mid-week starter? Then I realized that the game at Portland is on Wednesday, thus four days rest after today. Umlandt limited the damage to one run...thus the 7-5 score.
  14. 7-4 Ducks after three innings on a Anson Aroz three-run dinger over the right field fence!
  15. 4-4 after two innings. Buckeye batters are not fooled by Clarke, and are hammering him. He gave up a two-run homer, as his stuff does not look fast or tricky today.
  16. The problem with our pitchers having a collective bad day, is that we have a double-header today, and can't wash it out overnight... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4-1 Ducks after one inning. Ohio State batters are hitting Collin Clarke much better than I thought they would, and now there is more than enough tape on Clarke to scout him well. But the "Pride of Springfield," Maddox Molony blasted a three-run homer to give Oregon a surprising opening cushion.
  17. Iowa is two games ahead because they already played all three games with Minnesota over the last two days, and swept them. Oregon's series with Ohio State was planned over three days, but Sunday's game has been moved to Saturday to create a double-header on Saturday. I assume this is because of projected weather, as our two-game series with Kent State planned for earlier this week was cancelled due to exceptionally cold conditions at that location. Ducks need a sweep to stay on pace!
  18. Grinsell Dominant, Ducks Slug Four Home Runs in Win COLUMBUS, Ohio — Grayson Grinsell and two relievers combined on a four-hit shutout while No. 10 Oregon’s offense belted four home runs in a dominant 7-0 Big Ten Conference win over Ohio State at Bill Davis Stadium on Friday night. After hitting the first two batters in the bottom of the first, Grinsell (4-1) got out of the jam with no damage done thanks to a double play on a popped-up bunt. The Ducks’ lefty proceeded to retire 10 consecutive Buckeyes (6-16, 0-7 Big Ten) hitters before surrendering a lead-off single in the fifth. After an error put runners on first and second, Grinsell got the next three hitters to strand a pair in scoring position. Grinsell also got out of a first and third jam in the eighth inning after an error with two outs set the table for a strikeout to end the threat and the starter’s night. He finished allowing just three hits and one walk over seven innings while fanning five. Jason Reitz pitched a scoreless eighth before freshman Kellan Knox put together a 1-2-3 ninth inning. Grayson Grinsell at Ohio State How It Happened: Oregon (20-5, 8-2 Big Ten) did not waste any time jumping on top in the first inning. Mason Neville reached to lead off the game on a hit by pitch and then swiped second to get in scoring position. Dominic Hellman, back in the lineup after missing last weekend’s series vs. Rutgers, doubled inside the third-base bag to score Neville. Oregon added three two-out runs in the fourth inning with both the long ball and the short game. Anson Aroz and Maddox Molony went back-to-back jacks with Aroz homering to right and Molony lining a shot over the left-field wall capping a 12-pitch at-bat. Jeffery Heard followed with a infield single before moving to third on a wild pitch and throwing error by the Buckeyes’ catcher. Ryan Cooney made it 4-0 with a bunt-single RBI plating Heard. Hellman added some insurance in the top of the eighth, leading off the inning with a solo home run. Neville broke it open with a two-run homer in the ninth. Box Score Notes: Neville’s homer moved him into sole possession of fourth all-time at Oregon on the program’s home run list with 28 … The Aroz and Molony back-to-back homers were the first consecutive homers by the Ducks since Jacob Walsh and Aroz went back-to-back against Toledo in the seventh inning of the season opener against Toledo (2/14/25) … Aroz’s long ball was his first since homering against Columbia in game two of a doubleheader on March 1, while Molony homered in game one of a series for the second time in the last three series … The shutout was the fourth of the season for the Ducks. On Deck: Sunday’s series finale has been moved to tomorrow and will be a part of a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. (PT) on Saturday.
  19. We had a very tech-savvy reader of this forum call me to explain that I should not tussle with them over the phone...in fact, do not answer the call. They can actually create havoc with your phone apparently with the new AI stuff the bad guys are using. The good guys are always playing catch-up. And thanks to the kind soul who called me, and who expressed his love of this forum community.
  20. Oregon wins 7-0 on a Dom-Bomb for Dominic Hellman, and a two run dinger by Mason Neville. Ducks reliever Jason Reitz threw a scoreless eighth inning, and freshman Kellan Knox finished off the Buckeyes for Oregon in 1-2-3 fashion in the ninth!
  21. 4-0 Ducks after seven innings. While Oregon is scoring just enough to win, it is the pitching keeping us in it. I was wrong as Grayson Grinsell wasn't done, as he came out and pitched a scoreless inning again! This game will improve his ERA!
  22. 4-0 Ducks after six innings. Oregon's Grayson Grinsell is done pitching for the day after holding the Buckeyes to NOTHING for a full six innings! Chase Meggers is having a GREAT game...
  23. 4-0 Ducks after four innings! Home runs by Anson Aroz, and The Pride of Springfield, Maddox Molony padded the score with two runs. Then Jeffrey Heard moves from first to third on a throwing error to second base from a wild pitch which made Heard run...and then a perfect bunt by The Pride of Portland, Ryan Cooney to score Heard. Great baseball!
  24. Our Beloved Diamond Ducks are now 20-5 on the season, 8-2 in B1G play, and undefeated on the road! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oregon needs to get the bats going to maintain their B1G lead in the conference standings. 1-0 Ducks after one inning. Mason Neville gets hit by a pitch, steals second, and scores off a Dominic Hellman double. Good start! Grayson Grinsell uncharacteristically hit two batters, but the third tried to bunt and popped up a short ball that Chase Meggers caught, and fired to second base before the runner could return. A fantastic double-play to stop any damage!
