To me...this is big. Because the best photos for being up on my two sites have great crowd background with the yellow. As far as I'm concerned....everybody should wear yellow for every game, as it looks great on camera. And...is Pennsylvania Duck the Best, or what?

That might be you projecting your feelings, but I hope there are not boos for a coach within his first five games. The boos for Cristobal was in his fourth years with tons of prior game experiences for the fans. I think Coach Lanning deserves a chance to earn our trust...perhaps not as long as four years, but longer than five games, IMHO.

As a great Michigan State fan...that was nice of you to bring that to us. It shows us, frankly, how far yet we have to go. Do we have quality control people like that? Whew! One step at a time... Do check in when the discussions continue with Oregon possibly joining the B1G later.

We have all been on the receiving end of a butt-kicking in life among all the different categories, and it will be interesting to watch them over the next two weeks--what is their reaction? Will they be hungry to show everyone they are not that bad? Or will they be demoralized, and limp into games with a poor expectation? Will they assert their skills, or will they allow other teams to set the tone? I do not like this scenario any more than you, but as far as entertainment goes--this is a great drama to see how the spirit of this team responds. They will now be the underdog for the remainder of the season...even if they won eight in a row. That butt-kicking will always remain in the back of their mind. It can either mess-with-their-head, or energize them into becoming the best they can be. I find this fascinating to watch...

While I understand much of the quarterback discussion....the truth is that the defense is what lost the game. If the defense makes some stops--Oregon has many more opportunities to score, and things might have gone better for the offense. No, it does not excuse many of the offensive mistakes, but the way the defense played...we had no chance to win. Clemson only scored 3 points last year against Georgia, but because they had a great defense--it kept them in the game with only a 10-3 loss. I think we have a lot further to go on defense than offense, and I am quite surprised at that between all the experienced talent in the front seven, and a defensive guru coach.

You are new to the site, and we are sticklers about "no reference of any kind to politics." The category of politics has created quite a bit of trouble in the past until I clamped down on it, and I've banned people who could not control themselves from putting political references, innuendos or swipes in their post. I've lost friends over it as they leveraged our friendship into "allow the post or we are done." I was simply answering in advance to what I might run into, as it was not a political statement, just the best report about Ryne Nelson out there is all.

Yep there was negative written, but nobody was venting, and it was understandable with the disappointment. The most prolific poster in the history of both FishDuck sites could not control himself and was banned over this rule 31c. Two other OBD members that could not contain themselves in last year's game threads were banned as well, and we have a more harmonious atmosphere as a result. (Sometimes less is better) Now some of you will say, "he only wants sunshine-pumping" and that is your spin, as negative is fine, as I write negative often too. But there is a difference between writing some negative versus excessive negative, and use the three-times-in-a week as your guide. If you cannot tell the difference between writing some negative and venting? Then you should not post...because either you have poor judgment, or no control.

I want to remind everyone of Rule 31c, where we do not harp endlessly on the extreme negative. We are not sunshine-pumpers, we do critical analysis here, but we don't need the obvious from Saturday pointed out over-and-over. If you have told us your opinion three times in the last week? We GOT IT....hear that? We GOT IT. We do not need to see your excessive negative three or four times a day; you are venting, and that is impolite to the good people of this community. We are not your therapists couch; if you have to tell us your excessively negative opinion about the Ducks more than three times in a week? Then you are venting and violating Rule No. 31b, as well as 31c. Why do we have this rule? Why do you think? It's a fricken buzz-kill for the rest of us! We do not need your ongoing Eeyore observations; if you've given us your dire negative outlook three times in the last three days...we GOT IT. We are all aware of what occurred, and are still processing much of it. And the loyal fans are just that....loyal. Are you going to stand by Our Beloved Ducks right now? This is when they need you, not when it is easy with big wins. Writing negative is fine, but there has been the beginnings of over-the-top negative, and I don't want to delete posts or ban people over it....but I have before and I will. Time to move forward...

My FishDuck Friends, Kirby is not just Smart, he is brilliant. I cannot convey it enough with the articles I've studied, and all the videos viewed. There are two defenses in the history of college football recognized as the best, the 2021 Georgia defense, and an Alabama defense in recent years, and the one commonality was Kirby Smart was either the DC or HC. Clemson, Alabama and Ohio State are loaded teams, and will find it hard to beat the Bulldogs. Let's tip our hat to Georgia and move forward...
