Well, Bassa was a safety, and could play it again. (I would not be surprised to see him play some "Star" for us this year at times) Addison began his career as a receiver, and was a highly recruited one coming out of HS and he is long at 6'5" in addition to speed and catching skills. Bridges is 6'3" and reputed to have a wingspan of a 7-footer and he played corner for us last year. I did not list Justin Flowe, and although he has superb speed to stay up with TEs, he is inexperienced, and my preference would be the three above. Your TEs are elite, but this group might just be one of the more challenging set of defenders they face this season.

Yes, and Bassa, who was recruited to play safety, but filled in at WLB due to Flowe's injury and played well. He has speed and likes to hit... Jeffrey Bassa meets Brittain Brown in the gap to stop a big 3rd down...

We will have more sacks than last year, and will be one of the best ever for pass rushing at Oregon this year between veteran talent and the Lanning schemes, IMHO.

Depends upon the fan. I am primarily an "offense" fan, but have stated that this Oregon defense will be "the" surprise of the Pac-12.

He played there last year after playing guard before that, and he played guard in the Spring for quite a bit. I don't know if that is "getting him ready for the NFL" or simply make sure everyone knows other positions in case of injuries, or giving someone else PT at LT. Without him there--we are in trouble, and frankly I think your Dawgs who 'red-dog are going to get sacks regardless of our talent. You have elite edge rushers, and frankly where I and Lanning would like to see us at in the future. I do believe our front seven will be better than most believe, but...

I agree completely. I have already stated in this forum that my concern is pass protection at right tackle; as Salu is BIG, but not fast and got burned badly in the Spring Game. Smart will exploit this, and I am hoping that a 5-Star freshman with great feet (Josh Connerly) can help out on obvious passing downs. On the blindside is a senior (TJ Bass) who has great feet and done well blocking safeties in open space last year. He had injuries to start fall camp, but appears to be back. If he is out...we are screwed, and as it is...we are highly challenged by your extraordinary edge rushers. I am doing defensive analysis articles starting this Thursday, and in my study have been very impressed with how Smart/Lanning really messed up offensive lines. While I know we have seniors starting on the OL, you will get your licks in.

The data I will need from you on Friday will be: (entries without all the information are invalid, and predictions on other threads don't count as I am not going to hunt them all down) --the winner --the score, and the tiebreaker information needed from each of you is... --the amount of turnovers Oregon creates --the number of sacks Oregon records on the opposing team --the number of passing yards. Great article to address our fears Darren, but again--I believe the biggest surprise of the conference will be the Oregon defense. The front seven will be much better than the media, and Georgia fans, are thinking. It will not be easy for Oregon to score either, thus I see a close, low-scoring game.

If Frost thought recruiting to Oregon was hard, then Nebraska was not the place to go. This isn't the end of the world...but you can see it from here!

Technically, you can run RPOs off of nearly every play; when you successfully rip gains on the ground and they begin to adjust--you can hit the Bubble or a slant if the LBs commit too hard. But I think that the Bulldogs have THE best defensive coach in the nation, (Lanning has to prove it a few more years) and I personally would be reluctant to run them.

Just as a FYI...there is an enormous amount to this defense, and this Thursday is the beginning, the foundation to build upon. Through the season will we add to it, and I've gotta think that the similarities between Georgia and Oregon will be substantial enough for Bulldog fans to benefit from them.

I think there were some poor judgments in the construction of this video. For example, we want to get hyped about this season, with players we will see on the field this year. There are tons of highlight plays of returning players, and virtually all shown are no longer at Oregon. A Wheaton video in an empty stadium? The poor choices left me thinking about that, instead of the season. But they meant well...
