  1. OREGON plays 2 of the B1G's 3 B1Ggest games in 2024. https://athlonsports.com/college-football/big-ten-football-15-must-see-games-in-2024 And plays the top game in America Week 7 vs Ohio State and Week 10 at Michigan. The Ohio State game beats out Ole Miss at LSU, Penn State at USC and the Red River Rivalry Game.

  4. Amen. A lot of 'manageable' (barf) schedules in the SEC in 2024 that will rinse and repeat in 2025. I hate the euphemism 'weak.' And it is more difficult than some but I believe for Coach Smart and UGA in 2024, the schedule will not be 'unmanageable.' 9. 4 B1G Coaches make the CBS Sports 'Prove It in Tear 2 List.' NW's Braun, Nebraska's Matt Ruhle, Wisconsin's Luke Fickell, and Purdue's Ryan Walters. 10. ESPN ($ Wall) has updated its top 40 2025 recruiting classes to date. 13 of the B1G's 18 teams are on the list including all 4 of the Pac newcomers. Top 25 - 1. Ohio State/ 4 OREGON/ 9. Penn State/ 12. Michigan/ 15. Rutgers/ 16. UW/ 23. USC Other B1GGIES - 26. Maryland/ 28. Wisconsin/ 32. Nebraska/ 34. UCLA (!) / 37. Minnesota/ 39. Indiana. I do not have the data to confirm but I believe this may be the B1G's best recruiting effort to date since recruits were awarded stars.

  14. NCAA Tournament to include two new metrics beginning in 2025; committee delays decision on expansion - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Additionally: In 2026, Indianapolis will become the first city to host the D-I, D-II, D-III and men's NIT tournaments in the same year We can criticize the NCAA but the NCAA Basketball Committee unfolds the kimono and reveals exactly the data it uses to select 32 at-large teams and to seed the Tournament field. The College Football Committee acts behind a mirror darkly. If it does not disclose the data used to determine seven at-large teams and PO seeding and leaves us with "trust us," there will be many unhappy CFB fans; especially teams knocked out by lower-ranked teams, a lower-ranked G5 team, and possibly a Notre Dame team that will not have to prove its merit in a conference championship game. Although the nomenclature is different, the CBB and CFB Committees share the same top two criteria: wins and the quality of wins. CBB requires its Committee to use agreed-upon metrics to determine a team's strength of schedule (SOS) and uses common metrics to determine the quality of a win. The CFB leaves this up to each Committee member to determine. The chairman of the CFB Committee, in 2024 Michigan AD Warde Manuel, most often does their best to obfuscate the process. Many 2024 preseason polls have nine SEC teams in the top 25. Use a ranking like this to determine SOS and ipso facto a conference that plays eighth and not nine conference games will have the most difficult, by definition, schedules. CFB Selection Sunday will be very interesting, but grotesque for many.
  15. You go, Gabe! I am happy to see a Duck topping the list of course and Dillon has a shot to set college records that will be tough to beat, but I think this also says a lot, no offense Dillon, regarding the QB talent this season compared with last season.
  16. Oregon is on another list you want your program to be on. Thoughts on Top 15 college football programs for the next three seasons BAMAHAMMER.COM Josh Pate is widely respected as a college football expert. His valuable insight sparks conversations, but unlike many others, Pate provides substance to go alo
  17. DM, I agree with you on Gabe over Howard. The Ohio State D was elite in 2023 and with Caleb Downs coming over from Bama, could be better in 2024 IF the LBs produce. LB is where the Buckeyes lost veteran production. Like Michigan in 2023, almost all draft eligible three year players at Ohio State return in 2024, Without McCord at QB, the tOSU O was lost in the Cotton Bowl. But the D with no help from the other side of the ball shut down the Missouri offense like no team in the SEC had done in the regular season. I expect Ohio State to come into Autzen with a bad attitude and intent on running the ball. The Oregon DL wilted in the 4th Q vs UW in the champ game. I hope we will not see the same on 10/12. As Charles expressed, 'quite a game.' With tOSU a -1.5 favorite the books see it the same. I do want to give some love to Columbus, Ohio. Fort Worth is a cow town, not Columbus. Cleveland is also much nicer than it once was, especially since they put out the Cuyahoga River Fire in 1969 😍.
  18. This I know KC. I referenced Vicksburg as an enticing job site for Ole Miss Oxford grads. I think.
  19. Uncle Phil is in the rankings of Billionaires. Not bad for a Shoe Dog and a graduate of a university without the academic prowess of the Other School Up North.
  20. All righty then! The Portal King, Mari(o), Ryan Day, DeBoer, Sark, and a whole lot more other than Dabo on the portal front, aren't using NIL to attract recruits and portal guys? But for the money why would a kid not pick the home of The Portal King over Eugene? Choosing Oxford, Mississippi to play ball is the righteous and obvious choice based on all of the Nattys Coach Kiffin has won, the sterling academics, and the play of the iconic Jackie Robinson. What's that? Jackie didn't play at Ole Miss? Sorry, I was thinking of Archie. Jackie not attending school in Oxford does not lessen a football player with an Ole Miss degree in hand career opportunities outside of football. With the academic power of an Ole Miss degree coupled with Ole Miss's blue-blood prowess in football, would anyone opt for a sneaker company unless he was bought off? The rainy NW instead of practicing and playing games in 90-plus-degree weather accompanied by 80% humidity? What's wrong with you, Son? Very few people are aware of how many high school students have Stanford as their safety school if they are not welcomed to the hallowed academic halls of Ole Miss. They are simply not paying attention and not giving a Faulk(ner) about the opportunities that abound in the state capital Jackson, Mississippi, even though the water is not safe to drink. And starting salaries in Vicksburg are off the charts. Money is an excuse for not being as prepared on the NIL front as is and was and will be Oregon. It's an affront to Danno and friends' recruiting prowess. It's also an excuse when Oregon wins it all. I believe that it is at least 30 years now that Phil has been trying to buy a Natty, right? Of course, during the BCS and 4-team playoff era, no one was being paid. $cam? No offense intended to our UGA friends on OBD but how many games have SEC teams lost simply because they could not get fired up about playing OOC lesser competition? Not many. OK, South Central, it's your turn.
