There is no "CAUSE" because when Jen suspended him, she said they found his actions "weren't intentional". So she shot herself in the foot (probably in her mouth at the time) when she said that.

When you see the video of him plowing through, And I do mean PLOWING, the crowd of players, coaches and refs, It just looks bad. How do you regain the trust of coaches, players, staff, fans and the public? The stress of coaching, his own undoing, wow.
I don't think it was stress, he was just delusional, like the fans, that he was going to win the game and didn't want any more Coach Pete type cheap hits.

Pardon the expression, but Lake is a Lame Duck,
Never want Lake to be any kind of Duck, especially lame.

Jon Wilner seems to think so.
"The Hotline believes Lake has coached his final game for the Huskies and will be terminated before the suspension ends Sunday."

If Smith left Oregon State to go back to Washington, Taggart would be the second most hated former football coach in the state.
Personally, I don't hate Taggard any more. Hated they way he lied and left us, but SOOOOOOOOOOOO thankful he did now that we see the aftermath .... Cristobal left "behind" and him getting less than 2 years at his dream-turned-into-nightmare job.

Michigan may have gotten the benefit of the officials admitting they took away a TD on a bad call. Admittedly, if it didn't happen on the last play, the entire game would have been different from that point on and MSU may still have won.

Dang, how are they going to find anyone worse? If this is true, then Redd should be named the Husky MVP of the year!

For historical context, think of it like our, "Remember the Alamo", moment, when the Ducks channeled a small, ragtag band of Texicans, capturing General Santa Ana, and taking back their land (Yeah, I know... HYPerBOLe", but guys like FD get the analogy, I'm sure!)
Thanks for the "personal" analogy. I might be the only person born in San Antonio and was at the game.

Next man up, and lucky for us:
Silver lining #1 Recruiting, recruiting, recruiting
Silver lining #2 Maybe the transfer portal isn't looking so good with opportunities to be the next man up
Silver lining #3 We have those Husky "rejects".

UW Offensive Quality Control Analyst Payton McCollum will take over as interim quarterback.

Athletic director Jen Cohen said in a statement that the school had spent the past 24 hours reviewing video of the incident as well as talking to Lake and Fuavai and other players and staff before arriving at their decision.
"While we do not believe his actions were intentional or deliberate, we can have no tolerance for a coach interacting with a student in the manner Coach Lake did," Cohen said.
I guess Cohen needs some prowess with the definitions of "intentional' and "deliberate". Someone must have picked up the banana peel that caused the incident off camera.

WOW, I forgot to add that seems a bit harsh of just "separating two players" !

Boy, are we rooting for ASU now more than ever. Can you imagine a W by uw with a stand-in HC. We need the same ole result of a BIG L, so they can get back to extending Jimmy.

SEVER OPTIMISM
Washington Game Prediction Contest Part II
12 in a row was glorious. It was so much fun to post in 2015 that all Washingtonians under the age of 11 weren’t alive the last time uw beat the Ducks.
Now after 2 hiccups, we all know it is now 15 out of 17, with no end in sight.
So, my predictions are:
1) Ducks will not lose to uw while Lake is their HC (which may end sooner than we all wish)
2) We will not lose while Mario is our HC. I am basing this on recruiting as we have such a head start on them now, that I do not see them catching up for MANY years. This Lake fiasco will set them back for 3+ years after he is gone.
3) We will even this series get ahead in this series during my lifetime (I’m 71). So, looking forward to that 84th birthday.
GO DUCKS

Great take Charles. Fan Pressure, the great reversal.
We put it on the team with our belly aching earlier on, see Cal game and other under whelming wins. Now, having survived 9 games, the team has brought us into their boat with their #4 (soon to be #3 CFP ranking). Only, we do not see it as 1 - 0, we look at it as needing to go 5 - 0, which would entail beating a good Utah team twice in 3 weeks. "Always hard to beat a team twice."
I "have to" DVR the games and start watching 1 1/2 hours after it starts. To watch live without being able to skip breaks would cause my Xanex to need a refill by half time.
Everyone says if we win out, we're in. As our great friend is used to saying "not so fast my friend". An undefeated OK team gets in over us. Georgia only loses to Bama in the SEC CShip game, their both in. a 11 - 1 OSU's schedule will be tougher than ours in the end. I don't think Cinncy will pass us if we win out. So, the win-out-and-your-in anxiety will also hang over us until A) we lose, or B) some dominoes fall in front and behind us.
I can also say, if we do lose another game, then we don't deserve to be in the CFP.
Maybe the great equalizer for this team is their resiliency they have already gone thru with the injuries, slow starts, and the calmness they seem to posses when things seem to be going against them.
P.S. With all the hype and expectations, if we go 4 - 1, and the 1 is the Pac 12 CShip, hello San Antonio? OUCH

It's easy to be the leagues #1 pass defense when you can give up 300+ yards rushing. Why pass? Just ask Michigan and the Ducks.

In six seasons he went:
34 - 20 in league play.
2 - 4 vs the Ducks.
2 - 4 in Bowl Games: winning a Heart of Dallas and Las Vegas Bowl; losing a Cactus, Peach (Nat'l semi), Fiesta and Rose.
And gave us/them Coach Lake.

SERIOUSLY - thanks Steven for all of the Moderating help + the great posts.
