Chip should be fired if he doesn't get double digit wins. His three toughest games are on the road but no Oregon or Washington.
UCLA BRUINS
Sept. 2: Coastal Carolina
Sept. 9: at San Diego State
Sept. 16: North Carolina Central
Sept. 23: at Utah
Sept. 30: bye
Oct. 7: Washington State
Oct. 14: at Oregon State
Oct. 21: at Stanford
Oct. 28: Colorado
Nov. 4: at Arizona
Nov. 11: Arizona State
Nov. 18: at USC
Nov. 25: California
3-1 going into their bye at best, more likely 2-2 lol

Yes 100% fly with him. Why cant he play both sides. WR full time and then come off the edge on passing downs?

Its mind boggling how this conference let USC and UCLA leave. Why should the Ducks even stay? Take UW and bolt for a the Big 10.

Now that is a very smart young adult.

I'll take Ty Thompson with good qb development over Moore. The play calling for Ty was atrocious last year. If our new guy can guide Ty well we just might have a superior qb than Moore on the bench.
As I said in another thread DTR became a Pac-12 honorable mention player under Chip. He also still has massive flaws which will keep him out of the NFL. I suppose UCLA is a great spot to hang out while getting ready to transfer?
With QB's I am not sure I would even be that excited if Arch Manning decided he wanted to come to Oregon. Give me a proven transfer qb, or somebody who is willing to work on his game as a back-up.
I still think Ty just might prove a diamond in the rough. I love how he has proven to be loyal and says all the right things. Also another year with Nix will be extremely valuable for our program and Ty.
Ya wasn't it 4 run-options in a row called when TT was in for Nix one series?

I'm glad he is gone but have to wonder how the season would have gone if he stayed?

Who? Meh, This is not the hire of a team who wants to make the playoffs. -
My dog just entered the portal.

That's disappointing. I was hoping for LV Bowl and an SEC match up.

They have hit rock bottom. I think its a good hire.

Not a chance USC gets in over OSU
Playing in the conference title game has got to get you extra bonus points. I'd pick OSU over USC otherwise.

If Oregon is going to run an offense that features QB runs, then we are going to need to develop QB depth. That’s why losing Butters is a real downer.
I'm sure there are plenty of QB transfers with experience that would like to come to Eugene.

I predict they will still make the playoffs and its a tossup between USC and Ohio State for the last spot

This is the Ducks biggest problem that needs to be addressed.

Did we even have an edge rusher?

Hopefully is goodbye to some of the dumbest play calling I can remember in critical situations. Offense will be fine next year. Defense is the main problem.

Play didn't work = bad call. Play works = great call! But go back and watch the play again, it was a poor time to try it and an even poorer execution. What was Lanning thinking? Did he expect Utah to expect TT to throw the ball when he hadn't been all season, or at least not in a game where the outcome wasn't already decided? Whittingham's not that silly.
The kid has never started and we know hasn't had much coaching before this season on the collegiate level. But they bring him in cold with dumb play calling in high pressure situations.

Some of you guys blamed the player(Ty) for trick plays execution, give me a break, Its just the worse play in the worst situation.

Oregon vs. Texas Tech: Never-in-Doubt!
in Our Beloved Ducks
Posted
Lucky Ducks yesterday. I can't believe Tech went for it on 4th down deep in their own territory late in the game with the lead. Clean up the penalties and the O is fine, except for some questionable play calling. The defense is another story. One more game tuneup game till Colorado.
