  2. 5-Star Faheem Delane Has Oregon in Top Group Following Visit The top safety in the 2025 class was in Eugene over the weekend as Olney (Md.) Our Lady Good Counsel defensive back Faheem Delane took his first trip to Eugene. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound junior spoke with Ducks Digest about the highlights from his time with the Ducks. "They were just talking about how they're trying to build a top defense and they're already a top-10 defense and top-10 offense," Delane said."   4. Mookie Cook's season likely to be shutdown due to lingering injury "He's going to see a specialist when we're in LA. He's got some soreness. We've done some tests, and it doesn't look like a reinjury or anything like that. But it has just been so long. We're down to six weeks, seven weeks, whatever we got left. The Ducks are No. 15 with 360 points in the preseason NFCA poll, two spots below than their ranking in the USA Softball preseason poll. Oregon went 38-17 overall and 14-10 in Pac-12 play in 2023, losing in an NCAA Super Regional to Oklahoma State and finished the year No. 15 in the coaches poll. The event will be held on March 12 with a list of participants set to be announced at a later date. As has been the case for many years, the event will be held on the indoor practice turf inside the Moshofsky Center. It's all but assured that the program's top NFL Draft prospects will be present for the day's events. That would include star quarterback Bo Nix, running back Bucky Irving, wide receiver Troy Franklin, offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson, defensive lineman Brandon Dorlus and cornerback Khyree Jackson, while also providing players with less clear draft futures a chance to improve their stock too. Bo Nix, Brandon Dorlus, Jackson Powers-Johnson, Evan Williams, and Khyree Jackson were all part of the measurement process, as the bowl included heights, weights, arm length, hand size, and wingspan. That’s where an eye for character makeup comes into play, rather than just an eye for talent. “Every guy who steps into our program is really talented,” Lanning said. “They were all the best player on their high school team. Every one of them was really good, and the separating factor is the things I talked about with Bo Nix. It’s the heart, it’s the chip on their shoulder. It’s what’s going to make them work a little bit harder than the guys that are around them. And that’s the part that I think you have to identify in recruiting to say ‘Okay, this guy’s got a chance.” So far, it appears that Lanning has been very successful when identifying the players who have that extra chip on their shoulders.
