This situation regarding UCLA's move could get even messier if the state government gets involved. A Fishduck Feed article from a few days ago featured State Senator Nancy Skinner. She authored the 2019 law that made California the first state to give college athletes the right to earn money from their name, image and likeness. Her concerns about the move are expressed in the article and could open a bigger can of worms relating to the UCLA move. Opinion: Why UCLA quitting the Pac-12 hurts student athletes and Cal WWW.MERCURYNEWS.COM Sen. Skinner: Joining Big Ten to make more money represents a new low in colleges prioritizing business over students.

Malachi Nelson, USC quarterback commit, has recently started looking at other colleges. In a just posted FishDuck Feed article, he has signed on with Klutch Sports, the agency run by LeBron James' agent, Rich Paul, according to a report from ESPN. I think this is the start of another trend for college athletes to gain big NIL deals. When one does it, others will follow. To me, this is another thing NOT to like about college sports. How does this make you feel? Are you angry this is taking place or are you ok with it? Click on URL link to see article to read article. This author presents the case in a well thought out way and the likelihood of different scenarios occurring. UC Regents assert they can block UCLA move to the Big Ten, citing potential damage to Cal WRITEFORCALIFORNIA.COM Will they is another question altogether. There is still a long saga ahead.

Funny you ask, Drex. The following article just posted to the FishDuck Feed answers many of your questions. Now that the Big 10 Media Deal is done, this leaves the futures of the PAC-12 and Big 12 hanging in the balance. ESPN now has a chance to become somewhat of a "kingmaker" regarding these leagues. This is a good detailed article about where things stand regarding media and future realignment. The first part deals with how Big 10 expansion could open the door for additional revenue and broadcast partners. Though conference realignment has slowed, it could certainly open up in short order (more PAC-12 schools?) As you read further into the article, it gets into the particulars regarding the PAC-12. Highly recommended read. Further Big Ten expansion could open door for additional revenue, broadcast partners - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Though conference realignment has slowed, it could certainly pick back up in short order

There are two articles from the FishDuck Feed regarding the move of UCLA to the BIG 10 today. The UC Regents met yesterday and as seen in the articles, many questions were raised and to ponder. The Jon Wilner article is very good and offers many thoughts for pondering. You will need to click on the URL below to get to the Wilner article as I couldn't get the hyperlink to work. The LA Times article is good too, stating that "all options are on the table," and has info not in Wilner's piece. The Regents will meet again in September to discuss further. Do you think this is all for naught or will it lead to other options for UCLA?
