  1. Online entertainment is kind of an outdated term. Everything is online. A game broadcast on Foxsports is also streaming on their app.

Demand for sports has risen because it's one of the few entertainment options that's not scripted and the demand to view live entertainment as opposed to on-demand still remains. That's why the broadcast right's have been going up every time right's negotiation's come up.

Provider's want the live entertainment because advertiser's value those broadcast's over non live which are usually watched on demand.  They'll keep going up every few years as more and more entertainment moved towards on demand. Live Sports will continue to corner the broadcast market.

I believe the time zone change played a part and will until I see them play poorly on the West Coast before I will believe otherwise.

People may think that's just an excuse. Well every time I have traveled back east it took me several days to get over jet lag and I wasn't having to be physically active.

I know it's a big thing in pro football that teams from the west who play the east Coast team's are at a disadvantage and usually perform poorly. I believe it's even more applicable for college players.

IMHO besides that the new staff coaching new schemes, the first game of the season on the road, and not playing some patsy but the reigning champ's also were big reasons why what happened, happened.

That wasn't a problem in Columbus last year with a 9AM west coast kick-off.

  3. The truth is that Oregon will never recruit consistently at the clip Georgia does.  No amount of NIL money or facilities upgrades can makeup for a lack of talent on the west coast that the southeast has in abundance.  Georgia can put as may DL in one draft as Oregon has in a decade.  Unless a large number of young blue chip country fed lineman start moving west of the rockies this issue will remain.

  4. Chip was the ultimate lockdown coach when it came to information and access. I could be wrong but I remember the week leading up to the loss to Barkley and USC in 2011, Fentress or Jude or Grife was able to see a tenth of the practice field from a stair case that was a blind spot that hadn't been covered up yet and Chip spent all week being upset about it.

As a UGA fan I can say with confidence that there is great anticipation among Dawg fans when thinking of the matchup nightmares that our TEs will give opposing defenses this season.  It is warranted as GA does have a ridiculous amount of talent at TE and OC Monken has shown that he will strategically take advantage of this.  Most Dawg fans think this will be a big advantage on Sept. 3.

To be fair, many Dawg fans don’t realize just how talented Oregon’s defense is.  Especially at linebacker.  I’m not as familiar with UO defense as many Duck fans, but I’m certainly of the opinion that the D will be very much better than 2021.  IMO the D will be a major strength for Oregon this season.

My question to Duck fans is- Do you think the GA TEs have great impact on this game?

If Monken does emphasize their use in the passing game, can the Ducks keep them contained?

To be honest, my opinion of this game is similar my opinion of most big games.  The team that performs best on the line of scrimmage (both sides) will have a big advantage.  This likely leads to success in the run game and being able to work in other directions because of this success.  In contrast, if the run game is shut down it drastically reduces options.

My opinion on the TE matchups is that if UGA is somewhat successful in the run game the TEs will likely make a big impact on this game.  This isn’t a slight on Oregon’s LBs or secondary at all, I honestly think any defense would have trouble handling these guys.

Of coarse I might be wrong.  There is the Lanning factor.  Which brings me to my other question.  Do you guys think that Lannings knowledge of UGA makes a big impact on this game?  I think it certainly helps Oregon, how much I’m not sure.

I think Washington will play a factor in the game. During his recruitment I was hoping Cristobal could reel him in.

  6. The discussion on Miami happened immediately after the Ohio State game. Herbstreit even asked Mario directly about Miami being a possibility a week after. Mario told him essentially there's nothing to add to that as of right now but maybe later. These deals always get started earlier than anyone or the media suspects.

  7. The guy had an opportunity to return home and help resurrect his Alma mater as well as get paid very well.  I would never hold a grudge against anyone in life who makes a choice to pursue that. I never took it personal.  I've had an employer try to shame me for leaving and taking a better opportunity overseas.  Best decision I ever made professionally.
