Oregon football extends offer to 2029 OT prospect Xavier Berry There's planning ahead, and then there is this. Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks have extended a scholarship offer to Xavier Berry, a 6-foot-6, 260-pound offensive lineman from Puyallup, Wash. Berry's weight might be considered light for a college offensive lineman, but it's understanding for his age, as he will be entering the eighth grade in the fall. Yes, the eighth grade. Four "What If's" for Oregon's 2025 Football Season When you lose a Heisman finalist at quarterback, three of your top four receivers, a 1,000-yard rusher, a first-round NFL Draft pick at offensive tackle, and three defensive players selected within the first 90 picks, it’s only natural for questions to arise in Eugene. The result? Plenty of uncertainty—and just as many hypotheticals—about what the 2025 Oregon Ducks football season might look like. With spring practice now over a month in the rearview mirror and more than two months remaining until Montana State rolls into Autzen Stadium for the season opener, it’s the perfect time to start asking: What if? Alabama Crimson Tide recruiting news bodes well for Oregon Football More news emerged on Tuesday morning, likely giving Oregon a sense of confidence about its standing with the No. 19 quarterback in the 2026 class, according to On3. That news pertains to Alabama and their quarterback recruiting. According to Hayes Fawcett, the Crimson Tide flipped Iowa State 4-star QB Jett Thomalla, adding him to the Crimson Tide's 2026 class. While it's not definite, this seems like an indication that Alabama is no longer looking to bring in Beaver as well, despite having him on campus this past weekend for a visit. The tea leaves suggest that Kalen DeBoer and his staff might have seen that they were unlikely to land Beaver, so they picked up another QB and added him to the class. Where Oregon football ranks among most well-represented colleges in NFL There are well over 1,000 players on NFL active rosters, and when one looks at just one of the 32 rosters, the odds are they'll see an Oregon Duck or two. The Ducks are among the active leaders of college programs in having former players on an active NFL roster. There are 47 former Oregon players in the NFL in 2025. That number ranks ninth in all of college football. The Ducks just increased the previous number by nearly 33 percent, with 10 players drafted in the most recent NFL selection process. To no one's surprise, the Alabama Crimson Tide (72) and Georgia Bulldogs (70) lead the country. What is interesting to see, however, is that the USC Trojans (42) and Washington Huskies (41) are behind the Ducks on the list. 4-star QB Bryson Beaver to take official visit to Oregon Ducks this weekend Few recruits in the 2026 class have had as big of a whirlwind of a week as 4-star quarterback Bryson Beaver. After being a 3-star commit for the Boise State Broncos less than a week ago, Beaver received an offer from the Oregon Ducks and saw his recruitment quickly take off. Since, he's been bumped up to a 4-star by On3, received a pair of SEC offers, and visited both the Ole Miss Rebels and Alabama Crimson Tide. Now it appears that he is set to take an official visit to the Ducks this coming weekend, where Dan Lanning and crew will work to remind him who kicked off the recruiting whirlwind. 4-star QB Bryson Beaver to take official visit to Oregon Ducks this weekend DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The Oregon Ducks are expected to host fast-rising 4-star quarterback Bryson Beaver on an official visit this coming weekend. -

Tom Fornelli's complete guide to ensuring the best college football product as changes loom ahead of the 2026 season Change is coming to the College Football Playoff. We don't know what the format will look like in 2026 after the Big Ten and SEC gain control over it, but we know it won't look like the version we saw in 2024. That format didn't even last a year, as the powers that be saw the flaws in it and -- rightfully -- made the correct change in going to straight seeds. It was a refreshing breath of fresh air to see swift and productive change. It's also not something I'm counting on becoming the norm. So while The Powers That Be continue to meet over steak dinners in the coming months to hammer out a format, I've decided to gently nudge them in the direction they need to go. Put the company credit cards away, boys, because Tom has all the answers you need How to fix the College Football Playoff: Format, schedule changes necessary with expansion on the horizon - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Tom Fornelli's complete guide to ensuring the best college football product as changes loom ahead of the 2026 season

In the midst of uncertainty, Gary Bryant’s experience stands out Evan Stewart’s injury has added to the growing uncertainty of the wide receiver depth chart this offseason. While Dakorien Moore is expected to follow in the footsteps of standout true freshmen like Ryan Williams and Jeremiah Smith before him, Oregon’s wide receiver room remains full of questions due to its youth and lack of starting experience. Plenty of names have been mentioned as potential candidates to step up in Evan Stewart’s absence—Jurrion Dickey, Malik Benson, Jeremiah McClellan, among others. But what if the answer is the veteran in the room? What if it’s Gary Bryant Jr.? In the midst of uncertainty, Gary Bryant’s experience stands out - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Oregon moves on without one of its top wide receivers Evan Stewart, will it be Gary Bryant Jr's time to shine?
