PAC total DMA (media market) without the two schools in the LA market (5.7 million TV Homes) is 10,726,140 TV Homes DMA rankings for the following: If we added SDSU - San Diego: ranks #28 with 1.065,700 TV Homes If we added FSU - Fresno-Visalia: ranks #54 with 573,180 TV Homes If we added UNLV - Las Vegas: ranks #40 with 757,840 TV Homes (They are a Tier 1 Research university) A SDSU/UNLV combo gives you an extra 1,823,540 TV Homes 12 school total = 12,549,680 TV Homes Any combination of two other schools joining the PAC out of those 3 universities, the PAC would most likely lose value per university, not gain. But SDSU does give you a footprint in the Southern Cal area for recruiting and, like you mentioned, having them on board gives young talent a chance to attend some games south of the Bay Area.

We knew this was happening. ESPN is in the driver seat with these negotiations. So now what? ACC with the so called Loose Agreement? Certain poaching as well from some of the Big 12 schools that brings in the best media numbers? Will the PAC presidents and chancellors make the right decision? So far their track record in the past hasn't been so great in this area. Canzano: Pac-12 + Big 12 doesn't fit... onto the ACC WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Talks break down.

Canzano: There are More Important Things Than College Football
NJDuck replied to NJDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
From what his father quoted as well as what we so far have seen and read about Coach Lanning and company, I totally agree! Can't help but believe with great anticipation Oregon will see complete success bringing these young men to their potential, not only in athletics but also in life. We are thankful that Coach Lanning is Oregon's head coach. Go Ducks! Fly High! -
This added addition to the above information explains what the new indoor facility will be used for. This is going to be an amazing facility! "The write up only says the new project is intended primarily for football, but will benefit student athletes in almost all sports by providing additional access to the Moshofsky Center." University releases plans for a future indoor practice facility AROUND.UOREGON.EDU The 170,000-square-foot building, funded with private gifts, is expected to open in 2024

Hayward and Added Seating for World Championships?
NJDuck replied to JDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Hi JDuck. Not sure if this is helpful, but this is the ticket seating for the big event. Compare the two images. You can see where the extra seating is at. They seems to be able to add a lot of seating on the one side, but not sure how many seats that really is. But from what Haywarduck's picture and what mine is showing, they can certainly hold up to 30,000 seats. -

Terrible News...Spencer Webb Dies in Accident 🙁
NJDuck replied to Krsmqn's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Very sorrowful that we lost such a wonderful and talented young man! Our hearts and prayers goes out to the Webb family, team members and coaches. Spencer Webb, you will always be in our hearts! You will be greatly missed! -
"It seems ESPN has emerged as the most likely bidder for Pac-12 media rights. Evidently ESPN is the conference's most intriguing lifeline. Even if the Pac-12 and ESPN reach an agreement before the end of the 30-day window, they will still have to wait for Fox to either bid or waive rights." Canzano wonders with the loss of the LA market and the 10 schools funds might be around $30 million per school, if there could be some new and creative ways to recoup the $11.6 million loss per school. Again, hopefully GK could make it up with other streaming entities? Canzano: Pac-12 looking for a friend in Bristol WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM ESPN working on a timeline now.

Can Young Skill Players Make Oregon More Explosive?
NJDuck replied to Smith72's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
What is important is to help with speed, beside the opportunity the offensive and defensive schemes will create, is the hiring of Jarwarski Beckum as our new director of speed and performance. I know this was mentioned on another thread, but I included it again in here just in case you have not read it. It's worth reading. It speaks on the importance of how Wilson Love and other strength and conditioning coaches are approaching each position group needs as well as each individual athlete's needs within those position groups. S&C coaching team are assign to different position groups specializing specifically to those position group and individual athlete's needs. Nothing is cookie cutter. This is such an important intricate part in helping to physically, emotionally and mentally prepare this team to play up to their potential. Each S&C coach has a role to play on game day as well. Not just to keep coaches and players in line. . Strength and conditioning coach Wilson Love outlines his role in getting the Ducks ready 247SPORTS.COM -
Sources Saying Pac-12 Schools Will Stick Together
NJDuck replied to kirklandduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
If Oregon is going to be the face of the Pac12 as the anchor, maybe negotiation for a bigger cut of the pie is warranted. Though I am sure that will go over like a thud with the other 9 schools. -
Sources Saying Pac-12 Schools Will Stick Together

My hope is other entities/streaming services are in play, not just ESPN-evil channel is in play. Love your sentiment! -
"ESPN is in an exclusive, 30-day negotiating window with the conference right now. Canzano believe that explains why we've had a lull when it comes to realignment news. The conference members are waiting to see what kind of offer the Pac 12 will get." According to what Canzano source (Thompson) said, "ESPN needs Pac 12 more than anybody and will likely pay more than anyone else. Interesting that ESPN, according to Thompson, likes the West Coast window for football and basketball inventory. They might be willing to make something out of the Pac 12 network and need content for ESPN+." Some more interesting information from Thompson as well as other info in this article worth reading. Question for Duck Fans on Non-Conference Games
NJDuck replied to amcdawg's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I would root for conference foes when they are playing non-conference games. It only makes the conference looks stronger as a whole which only helps Oregon in the long run. -
USC Fans Do NOT Want Oregon in the B1G...Whew!
NJDuck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Evidently they really don't realize they did not get in due to their so called blue blood status, but only due to their school is in the LA market area. If Oregon was in the LA market area BIG 10 would have invited Oregon. They don't want to admit it, but they are very jealous of Oregon's success especially right in their own backyard in recruiting. Oh yeah, their so called blue blood sign is very tarnished and faded for the past 13 years due to their worthlessness. Go Ducks, Fly High! -
The SEC is Done With Expansion...For Now
NJDuck replied to DrJacksPlaidPants's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I still think the ACC and Pac 12 should have voted to expand CFP. They could most likely assured at least one team champion from each conference an automatic bid into the playoffs. -
As the old saying goes, "All Quiet on the Western Front." At least for the weekend that is. "One conference AD said telling their coaches don't believe everything you read. They're doing their best to stabilize the conference and make moves to make the conference sustainable." "Oregon, Stanford and Washington are viewed as the most attractive potential candidates as additions to the Big Ten or SEC. But as we all know have not been formally invited. Respective media-revenue numbers don't come close to penciling out without Notre Dame involved." As we know it's the waiting game with Notre Dame. But, "the remaining 10 members of the conference feel that the dialogue has been candid, productive and forward thinking --- the numbers point to the remaining 10 sticking together." Canzano: Pac-12 athletic directors celebrated 'quiet weekend' WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Conference ADs will meet again today.

Thank you Log Haulin for this article. You read so many different realignment contradictions and takeovers makes your head swim. It's like no matter what you do your doomed! The only survival option is to be invited by either the BIG or SEC. All other options are out the door and doomed to secede. Even though Oregon's viewership and national brand is flourishing, but because Oregon is in a local media market of 21 and geographically does not fit you might not get invited to join. it's hard to believe that you can't take the remaining schools from the ACC, PAC and Big 12 that does not have enough media market clout to form another great conference. My hope is those involved with the decision making at Oregon (glad Phil Knight is involved) to make the best possible decision that will make Oregon continue to be successful and flourish in the next coming changes and landscape of college football! I Still don't know how the likes of basketball, track and field, baseball, softball, etc. will endure the grueling schedule when geographically and culturally speaking is not a good fit. I love my Ducks!

I just finished reading the article from Clemsen's viewpoint it seems a partnership with ACC is not what they want. -
Pac 12 and Big 12 TV Deals Rights Advisors
NJDuck replied to curtisd316's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I know this all been talked about and maybe I am naive, but what about merging the best of the Big12/Pac12 and create a partnership with The ACC? Bring together the strongest partnership possible to try and create a strong conference. Like you said, bid out to the likes of Amazon, Apple CBS, NBC, etc. along with ESPN and or Fox. Try to generate the best possible highest media rights. I think the 3 conferences need to come together to stop the bleeding and forge the best possible scenario. There are good teams with good media markets that could work with a newly forged partnership.
