  1. Big ask! Gotta get to 19 wins before we can think about 20! Query: do NIT wins count towards that “20 win” total?
  2. The Seahawks should BE so lucky!
  3. I couldn’t do it Justice, but…..I’ll try to hit the highlights: Flo was born in Germany. His American father left the family when Flo was 2. Didn’t really say why, but Flo ended up on the basketball team at Thurston High in Springfield. Ernie Kent, UO b-ball coach, came to see him play, and recruited him to UO. FLO’s son, Isaiah……who is now with the Clippers, and in his 4th year in the NBA…..was born when Flo was a freshman at the U of O. All Isaiah remembers of Mac Court is…….the smell! A woman remembers seeing Isaiah on his Mom’s hip(“He was a Big Boy!”), inside Mac Court, and the kid was drooling “like Hootch of ‘Turner and Hootch’ “ at the smell of the popcorn and hot dogs! The rest of the story is about Flo playing pro ball in Germany, and coaching Isaiah as he grew up. isaiah and family decided to skip college ball(including interest from WSU’s Coach, Ernie Kent), and go straight to Euro Pro Ball. Flo is now Isaiah’s personal chef, in support of Isaiah’s entrenchment in the NBA as a regular rotational player. ————- Sorry I was unable to post a working link to the actual article.
  4. Sorry he has an illness. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out, ultimately, it’s pressure-related. (Not even accompanying the team!). Whatever it is, here’s hoping he gets over it……and soon!
  5. Clippers’ Isaiah Hartenstein lands a real NBA job, just like he planned – Daily News WWW.DAILYNEWS.COM With his father’s example and guidance, the Clippers’ backup center has fulfilled a lifelong pursuit and is making an impact.
  6. Well……sad to say…..he’ll score the same amount whether he plays, or doesn’t play……so, not a big loss. Sorry for him that he wasn’t able to sustain his talent.
  7. “And I'll say this for the 5th time...I detest that weave Altman has uses.” Me, too!
  8. Last couple of years, Dana has had patchwork teams. Too many transfers in/out for continuity. Richardson, who was expected to spearhead this group, just disappeared. Next year, maybe he can build on continuity with returning players…….and, without the enigmatic Richardson…..and “clank” Williams.
  9. Ronnie was one tremendous basketball player, no? We were privileged to be able to have him on our team, and to watch his play for 4 years! In today’s game, he would’ve been an early departure ala Lou King, Brown, etc. I think he would’ve stuck in the NBA, even if he had left early. Might’ve even had ended up with more years played in the NBA. We’ll never know……
  10. “It's disappointing because Richardson has the talent but lacks heart.” I think what he lacks is confidence……as you also reference above. It’s gotten to the point where he won’t even attempt a shot anymore. Altman deemed him the Leader of the team this year. It appears that responsibility was too heavy for him to carry. He tried! Just………hasn’t been up to the challenge. Thats okay. Some are…..some aren’t. You’re right: he had plenty of good games for the Ducks over his career. He just isn’t ready for the leadership role Altman had in mind for him. Yes, disappointing, but……..sometimes it just doesn’t work out. Onto “next year” for Altman’s Ducks!
  11. Lost weekend game! Glory be to: Bruce Coldren, Ron Lee, Greg Ballard, Gerald Willet, Mark Barwig, and………. Ernie “4 or 5 moves” Kent!!!
  12. NIT? Meh! However, if they have a chance to play more games, it gives them more chances to: get game experience, and more work on improving. Might mean some $$$$ and exposure for UO, too. Ultimately, I think it should be up to a vote of the current team.
  13. I don’t even think he’s got a shot at pro ball at any level. Who’d pay him for what he provides: he and his inability to make a basket are a turnover machine…..that acts as an assist, I.e. 6th man for the opposition. Sorry…..some college players just have to get a regular job, like most of us,I.e. use that degree we went to college for. if he wants to stay in Basketball, he might try coaching…..
  14. What a dominating performance Richardson had in the first half, once again! (NOT!)
  15. Sad, but true!
  16. Any way you look at it: very disappointing season. An Underachievement. When the guards score, we win. When not…..”not so much”…….
  17. Great win by the Ducks! 42 points scored by the guards! Guard production has usually meant a Duck win, this year. Will is good support to the team/not so good when the team leans on him as “main man”. Not overlooking great contributions by Dante and Franck! They were awesome, too! Walton even said Dante is gonna be in the NBA! Bill oughta know a little bit about what that takes! ’Sco Ducks!!!
  18. I would posit that being an NFL QB just inherently means that you’re going to be injured at some point. “This ain’t no tea party!”
  19. It is a well known axiom of the law, etched in stone that: “Ignorance of the Law is no defense” e.g. “I didn’t know that was against the law to drive 100 mph!”, “I didn’t know it was against the law to shoot my neighbor!”; “I didn’t know it was against the law to take your car”; “I didn’t know it was against the law(of common sense) to root for the Beavers!”
  20. AND…….USC would have been nothing without Oregon’s John McKay, and John Robinson!
  21. It’d be nice to see more playing time for Bittle and Johnson, but…….where to get it from? Dante and Franck need to develop, too…….Guerrier has been the only scorer in 2 out of the last 3 games.
