College Football's New Clock Rules - Division III Rolls a Black Ball?

There are 432 D3 programs playing college football. The majority do not want to see the game shortened, they want to keep in place the stop-the-clock after 1st down rule. Does little old D3 have the power to stop the change in clock timing rules?

Does the Bowdoin College Polar Bear speak?

Cutting plays may be key to the future of the FBS, but it's a bane for Division III football

Probably as much as "The Duck."

BTW, the Polar Bear is the Bowdoin mascot due to Arctic explorers Peary and MacMillan both being graduates of the school.

Perhaps this will help one day if you play Trivial Pursuit.

It is now expected that the D3 objection to the clock not stopping after 1st downs will delay the implementation of the new timing rule for at least 1 year.

The earliest this new timing rule is likely to be implemented is the 2024 season.

I respect D3's position but this is another reason why G5 and the P5 should regulate themselves free of the NCAA.

The delay in implementing this rule could benefit a Texas Tech team that ran the most plays in the nation in 2022.
