Notalot No. 1 Share Posted January 19 This news makes the Ducks sudden flight to the B1G, with minimum fall-out and the final Settlement with the Pac, look better. The ACC Conference has put up its dukes, and with the Amendment signals its members that it won't roll over and let FSU blow up the league. The ACC is ready to fight and wants to extract flesh from FSU and signal other conference members that it views the Grant of Rights to be ironclad and absolutely binding. On January 17th, the ACC accused Florida State of breaching contract and disclosing 'trade secrets' in its amended lawsuit. The ACC initially sued the Florida State Board of Trustees in North Carolina in late December. The league formally amended its complaint Wednesday, alleging FSU violated the signed agreement (Breached Contract) when it chose to challenge the exclusive grant of rights. The conference also accused the school of releasing confidential information — “trade secrets” between the league and television partner ESPN — in its legal filing in the Sunshine State. Reporters and commentators have noted that the ACC saw what happened to the Pac-12 and does not want history to repeat by imploding the ACC Conference. The ACC, in its 55-page filing, is seeking a trial and damages it “reasonably believes will be substantial.” The league also asked the court for a permanent injunction barring FSU from participating in the management of league affairs while it “has a direct and material conflict of interest” with the ACC's purposes and objective. It also asked for a permanent injunction barring the Seminoles from disclosing confidential information about the TV agreement. :Credits to Associated Press and 10Tampa Bay 1
