KUDOS to Our New B1G Friends

Purdue makes the Men's Final 4 and Zack Edey wins the Player-of-the-Year award back-to-back. Purdue is looking for the first B1G title since Michigan State won it all in 2000.

Iowa makes the Women's champ game versus South Carolina and Caitlyn Clark wins the Player-of-the-Year award back-to-back. USC(e) is undefeated this season. Last season, Iowa upset USC(e) before losing to LSU in the champ game.

Ohio State wins the Women's Ice Hockey championship. Michigan advances to the Frozen 4 for the third season in a row where it will play No. 1 seed Boston College on 4/11 in St. Paul, Minnesota. No. 2 seed Boston University plays No. 3 seed Denver setting up what could be a mini-version of the Bean Pot Tournament. Once a year, BC, BU, Harvard, and Northeastern play for the Bean Pot Trophy in a sold-out Boston Garden.

Penn State won its 3rd Men's Wrestling championship in a row, setting an NCAA record for Points Earned in the process.

Penn State's Aaron Brooks, who wrestles in the 184 lb. weight class, was the B1G Wrestler of the Year, the NCAA tourney's Most Outstanding, and the National Wrestler of the Year.

It will be very tough to accomplish but it would be great for Puddles to fly into the B1G with the conference owning a Men's and Women's NCAA titles.

B1G fun coming up.

Iowa's superstar knows her team needs its best performance to beat the unblemished Gamecocks.

You Go Gals! No title for the B1G in Men's and Women's CBB in 24 years!

Should Zach Edey be considered a better NBA prospect than he is? Maybe we'll find out Monday.

Caitlyn Clark gave a good effort, Clark scored 20 points but (the good) women's USC team won the 3rd title in program history, 87 - 75.

This game will likely set the record for the most-watched Women's CBB Championship game. Iowa's win over LSU drew more than 12 million viewers.

Can Purdue end the B1G's 24-year streak without a men's or women's basketball title? UConn is -6.5.

B1G went champ game 0-2. No titles since 2000 in CBB.

Great game by Purdue's Edey, 37 points, but in the Men's Tourney it comes down to guard play and UConn's guards did an excellent job of shutting down Purdue's guards. Purdue came in as the 2nd ranked team in 3-point success and went 1 for 7  against UConn.

Caitlyn Clark had a great first quarter and first half (I'd like to see the Men's CBB use quarters and lose a TO) but ran out of gas against a deeper South Carolina squad.

Back-to-back for UConn and USC(e) 3rd title.

Zach Edey put up 37 points in the national title game. Unfortunately, the rest of his teammates only scored 23 points as UConn defeated Purdue, 75-60.

And the Ducks with a great late run were definitely Winners.

UConn's 1st star player was big man Toby Kimball, who went to the same high school I attended, Belmont Hill School in Belmont, Massachusetts. My 2nd Hillies reference of the day; please forgive me.

It was reported Sunday night that longtime Kentucky men's basketball coach John Calipari was finalizing a five-year deal to join the University of Arkansas.

It might have been Cal at tOSU.

Too bad. So sad.

Purdue could not come up with the stops needed to slow down UConn as the Huskies rolled to a 2nd straight national title.

19 million+ folks tuned into CBB women's game. WOW!

The most watched basketball game since 2019 — men’s or women’s, college or pro — was Iowa vs. South Carolina for the 2024 women’s national championship.
