Here are my predictions for which members of Oregon's 2023 signees will play this fall and which will use redshirts. Many will wonder which players are likely to see the field this fall. With that in mind, we’ve done our best to handicap the odds of early playing time for each of the team’s 25 true frosh on the 2024 roster. To help, we've broken the class into three groups: likely to redshirt, too close to call and likely to play. We had a dozen or more spring practices and a spring game to develop some early impressions of the half-dozen early enrollees. The remaining five players have yet to be seen in Oregon uniforms. That is a plus for Flowers, who greatly impressed during spring ball and had a huge spring game. Oregon wins through, and Michigan beats Ohio State, and USC beats Michigan and the rest of their B1G games, thus the B1G Championship of the Ducks and Trojans would have NO interest to most the of the B1G fans...but....I thought it would be... However, in 2025 and 2026, tOSU plays Texas; in 2027 and 2028, the Buckeyes play Bama. In 2024, and 2027, Michigan plays Texas. In 2025 and 2026, Michigan plays Oklahoma. Why? These are B1G time delightful games for the fans of CFB but Michigan, Ohio State, Texas, and Oklahoma could swap these games for 4 home games vs G5 or FCS opponents and still earn a 1st or 2nd seed if they win the conference title. I'd rather sharpen Puddles flight patterns in the Playoffs. Whoa, Fernelli! Tom went 7-7 with last season's B1G win total projections. I see Tom being on the wrong side with a number of his picks. Tom has Ohio State winning 12 games and Oregon going 11-1. Could happen and at 11-1 Oregon is in the PO even with a champ game loss to TOSU to finish 11-2. But IMO, Tom is selling Autzen short. Like the bookmakers, I see the game on 10/12/24 as a toss-up. Penn State finishes 10-2 and will be a PO at large contender. A big game for PSU also falls on 10/12/24 when PSU plays USC in LA. Michigan - Tom has the Wolverines defeating Texas in Ann Arbor. Today, Texas is -3.5. With UT losing 2 DTs to the NFL, the run game of Michigan QB Orji could be the difference. Rutgers - Under 6.5? No Iowa, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, and Penn State on the schedule. UCLA and UW in Jersey. I think the Knights with 2 OOC wins finish no worse than 7-5. USC - Tom has Troy losing to LSU in Las Vegas, on the road vs. Michigan and UW, and home to ND. I think USC will win 2 of these 4 games. Iowa - I do not see Iowa losing on the road against Minnesota, Michigan State, and UCLA. I see the Hawkeyes as a dark horse candidate to make the conference champ game and finish no worse than 9-3.
