Rutgers misses Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, Oregon, and Iowa in 2024. Coach Schiano would love this year after year

As for the B1G Boys? Play them in the playoff. You receive no greater revenue share playing Bama and not San Jose State. Until the Committee shows where it stands in valuing SOS, why schedule up OOC? At Michigan and vs. Ohio State are enough.

Michigan has been in the PO the last 3 seasons. Michigan's OOC slate over the last 3 seasons has been putrid. In 2023-24 a bad OOC did not stop Michigan from being Playoff seeded No. 1.

The increase in the number of games for a playoff team can be substantial. Scheduling OOC teams that require the starters to play the entire game just exposes your best players to injury.

Having games where your team can bring in younger players for game experience seems a much better way to decrease injuries to your key players. Especially, for a team that has a legit shot at a championship.
