Chaos in the B1G. The only chaos I hope to see will be authored by the Ducks D.

The one I could be worried about, Nebraska, is not on the 2024 schedule. Although, Michigan State could be a look-ahead to Ohio State game and the Boilermakers could be an Ohio State hangover game.

A discussion with Big Ten Ted. BTT "has built a reputation for his in-depth analysis, keen football insights, and ability to break down complex strategies into engaging content for fans. Whether it's dissecting matchups, evaluating team dynamics, or offering predictions, Ted's work resonates with football enthusiasts who crave a deeper understanding of the game."  Sounds a lot like BTC (Big Ten Charles).

Traditionally in the last 30 years, Oregon is 17-9 against Big Ten teams with five of those matchups in premier bowls, including the national championship. In bowl games, Oregon has gone 4-4 head-to-head.

Biggest challenge: the travel and the time constraints placed on the Ducks when they travel east; physicality week-in and week-out.

Challenging match up besides Ohio St = Wisconsin.

Will the Ducks D be able to hold Boise RB Ashton Jeanty - 20 carries, 267 yards 13.35 Yards Per Carry, 6 TDs on the road vs Georgia State to 100 yards or less?

Will Jeffrey Bassa be good to go?

Michigan +6.5 vs Texas

Penn State -31.5 vs Bowling Green

Maryland -8.5 vs Michigan State

Iowa -2.5 vs Iowa State

So, the Ducks miss the cover over Idaho by about 5 touchdowns, Boise State goes on the road, wins by 11and have yet to lose to the Ducks, and it's Oregon -19.5? I understand that lines are set to be adjusted, but this one needs a chiropractor.

WEEK 2 - The Biggest B1G Games. P4 vs P4 and a B1G P4 vs P5 Huge Game in Autzen.

All teams below are 1-0. AP Poll rankings including Others Receiving Votes used.

Friday 9/6

NR Duke at NR Northwestern -2:  Tune in to see NW's temporary 'high school stadium' on the shores of Lake Michigan. A beautiful setting. 6 PM FS1 (All times Pacific.)

Saturday 9/7

3 Texas -7.5 at 19 Michigan: Can the Wolverines D stop a Longhorns O that looked unstoppable last week vs. Colorado State? Can the Michigan O that struggled vs. Fresno State put up enough points to win the game? This is this week's B1G Headline game and the SEC Headline game. 9 AM FOX.

29 Iowa State at 21 Iowa -3:   The Cy-Hawk Game. Iowa's D as expected, was solid last Saturday, and OMG!, the Hawkeyes O put up 37 points in the 2nd half! Get down on the 35.5 Over? 12:30 CBS

19 Kansas -5.5 at NR Illinois:  A healthy Illini QB, Luke Altmyer, threw for 2 TDs on Saturday, and the Illinois O with a healthy QB looked much improved and against a lesser opponent, the D played as it did in 2022, before losing five starters to the NFL. This will be the 1st sell-out for Illinois in the last 8 years. 4 PM FS1.

NR Colorado at 31 Nebraska -7.5:  Batman and Robin, Sheduer Sanders, and Travis Hunter, balled out in the victory over North Dakota State. And they had to as CU showed another suspect D and O line. Cornhuskers QB Frosh Dylan Riola played as advertised last Saturday. With a win, Nebraska should replace one of the B12 teams, and Clemson, at the bottom of the AP Poll. 4:30 PM NBC

NR Michigan State at NR Maryland -9.5:  An early conference opener for two B1G M+Ms. Sparty QB Aiden Chiles was shaky last week while the Terps QB, Billy Edwards, Jr. played an excellent game vs D2 Howard. 12:30 BTN

28 Boise State at Oregon -19.5:  Has OBD ever had a bigger game vs. a G5 opponent? The Broncos, 3-0 vs. Oregon all time, come into Autzen fired up after putting up 56 points on Clay Helton's Georgia State. For Pride, the Playoff, and Puddles sake, the Ducks offense better show up to play a four-quarter game. And the D better be prepared to hold down one of the nation's best RBs Ashton Jeantry and true Frosh RB, Sire Gaines. For what the Ducks have to do to put the Idaho embarrassment behind them, read Charles's excellent article up today on the Forum. 7 PM Peacock

After Week 2, Ducks Wire has OBD Power Ranked 2nd in the B1G behind Ohio State. I believe 2-0 USC, and Illinois are 2-0 with wins over Top 25 ranked opponents. LSU is still ranked at 16. Illinois knocked 19 Kansas out of the ranking.

2-0  Penn State and Nebraska have wins over P4 opponents West Virginia and Colorado.

I like seeing OBD ranked just behind tOSU but Oregon's play to date against an FCS and G5 opponent does not deserve this ranking.

WEEK 3 - It's a Very Competitive B1G Champ Race With the Buckeyes In The Lead.

Two weeks into the college football season, the Big Ten is already stirring up some chaos and leaving fans’ fantasy predictions in shambles.

SC should be ranked in the AP Top 10 if not in the Top 5, get Penn State in LA, along with a suspect and not a sure thing playoff Notre Dame. And ranked Nebraska also trips to LA.

SC will likely be favored in road games vs Michigan, with SC coming off an Idle Week, Minnesota, Maryland, UW, and UCLA. No Oregon and no Ohio State on the regular season schedule.

How About Some B1G Bowls?

DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM

A look at where each college football team in the Big Ten Conference is projected to play in the bowl postseason after Week 2 of the season.

But how many PO contenders will be happy to go bowling other than in the NY6 and how many players will want to suit up to play in a "meaningless" bowl game?

OREGON - 9 Seed at  8 seed USC/ Penn State/ Iowa State? I do not see these games as being probable. Iowa State at 8 with the B12 champ the likely 3rd or 4th seed? 2 B12 teams in the top 8? No matter what the PO Poohbahs have to say, if at all avoidable, I do not see 1st round games vs conference members. Why? Less money than playing a team outside of your conference in the 1st-round. This ESPN would not like.

Illinois is 2-0 and has home games left vs Central Michigan, Purdue, Minnesota, and Michigan State, and plays NW at Wrigley Field. The team just defeated No. 19 Kansas. No bowl?

Rutgers with its conference schedule and 2-0 to date will be bowl eligible. I'm less certain about Maryland but I think the Terps win 6 or more games.

USA Today has no love for the B1G and lots of love for the SEC. Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas should be highly ranked but Ole Miss, Missouri, and Oklahoma have defeated no one to date and ranked A+M lost to a team that just lost at home to a G5 team.

I reiterate, I believe there will be more umbrage this season and next with a jury-rigged PO format than we witnessed in the 4-team PO including FSU being benched.

Hey, Y'All, Saturday Down South is Buying the Ducks.

There's also some more praise for MIA:

Almost no one in the ACC has been good to start the season. Miami is a primary exception, but the Canes haven’t just been good — they’ve been excellent... Miami hasn’t played anyone worthwhile since the Florida game.

And doubts about Georgia:

Smart certainly has earned the benefit of the doubt, but this was Georgia’s worst offensive performance in years — and I’m leaning toward it being more of a harbinger of things to come than another annual aberration.
