Comcast Still Negotiating with Fox

Recommended Posts

If you have Comcast as your carrier you probably noticed you still don't have access to the B1G Network. Word is the two parties have been negotiating since Friday but still no deal.

I would recommend looking into streaming services until the two sides come to terms. Fubo offers a free week if you are interested. Hopefully this standoff will be resolved quickly. The great thing about the B1G is the amount of stations affiliated with the conference. I think Beavis was on the super prestigious beanie baby channel.

"Hopefully this standoff will be resolved quickly."

It is a nice thought, but I would bet against it.  Why?  Because Fox/B1G wants a buck more per subscriber per month of not just those who want the B1G channel and buy the extra package, but ALL subscribers of Comcast Xfinity in Oregon, Seattle, and all of LA?

That is a ton of money.

And Fox/B1G have no choice; they MUST get paid that or the other 14 B1G members get a discount in what their subscribers in their local areas are paying.  B1G must have it, and I don't think Comcast/Xfinity can afford it or will want to pay it.

I think both sides are dug in...

I'm so glad I got rid of Comcast years ago.

Let's hope it doesn't take as long as it did in the 1910's.  Glad I switched to streaming.

I cut the cord a decade ago. I had DirecTV and my initial plan was like 82 bucks. Then without me adding anything or being told that my two year locked in price wasn't guaranteed , the price jumped to 115 dollars the next year. I later found out DirecTV had added a bunch of useless channels to my plan without informing me.

Not to mention the satellite would go out during any kind of storm and the customer service was worse than renewing your license at the DMV.

I have zero sympathy with Xfinity/Comcast. Every other cable provider has moved the Big 10 Network to the basic cable plan. Comcast doesn't need to raise bills by one dollar, they just need to take the hit to keep their customers. Customers that are leaving.

I'll tell you what, when Comcast screwed with the Blazers package last year I dropped Comcast as my cable and internet provider instantly. I had been with them since 2004. I paid a lot of $1 bills to them each month and I am just one person.

Unless you live in some geographical oddity location, I suggest everyone to switch to YouTube TV (and ideally Hunter Fiber like I have).
