Charles Fischer Administrator No. 2 Share Posted October 8 How about the SEC playing nine damn conference games? Do we have to get hosed at every conference we join? 2 Mr. FishDuck
noDucknewby No. 3 Share Posted October 8 Good article, albeit a bit long for us ADD types. Sankey has made it clear that he likes the way the SEC has worked the sytem; I just don't see him giving up the systemic advantage they have without a whole lot of motivation ($). Agree with Charles, nothing makes a bit of sense without the SEC moving to 9 conference games. That applies to the ACC as well, although not as much in the big picture of things. I guess the good thing about private equity is that there would more of a hierarchical structure rather than the Game of Thrones system we have now. But Sankey has already said, in essence, let's just take their ideas and do it ourselves then cut them out. This only works IMHO if they figure out a way to settle all future litigation and consolidate the broadcast rights into one negotiated deal, regardless of how the money is allocated (a tiered system is most likely going to happen). At least then the networks couldn't pit the conferences against each other.
