OBD Prediction Contest DID Have a Winner Who Was Close...

Recommended Posts

The final score was 35-0 and Autzen Magic predicted 38-3 and thus was only off by six total points!  Most of us were a MILE off, as we did not see this defensive performance coming so impressively on the road.

Now Grandpa Duck was the next closest with a 38-7 prediction that was only ten points off, but ol' Autzen Magic made it easy to not have to use the tiebreakers this week!

Thanks to all for playing and CONGRATS to Autzen Magic!

Thanks, Charles for the kind words.  More importantly, thank you for the opportunity to participate in the OBD forum.

I can’t help but note that both teams missed a field goal or otherwise I would have nailed the score.

Last, but not least, to all those Duck fans who are wringing their hands over missed tackles, missed blocks, etc., I hear you.   But I recommend that you take a step back and appreciate that OBD just SHUT OUT a team, are 7-0, and will be ranked #1 or #2.  OBD have come a long way since I was a young lad cheering for Reggie Ogburn and the Ducks were running the triple option.   What a great time to be. Duck!  ENJOY!

Well done, Autzen Magic. I can't believe anyone called 38-3, especially after Purdue put up 49 points against a Top-25 team the week before. But clearly you saw something to make that most excellent call.

And Reggie Ogburn... that's a name I haven't heard in a while. He sure was a fun, exciting and talented option Duck QB.
