But Austin Mock's Playoff Mock AL, updated on 10/20/24, has Puddles flying sky-high. Some AL's are smarter than others. Here is Austin's (lots of football fans in Austin, TX are not happy today) Week 9 (Week 9 already!) Playoff field. Rose Bowl - No. 1 OREGON vs. 9 Clemson at 8 Notre Dame Fiesta Bowl - No. 4 Iowa State vs. 12 Boise State at 5 Ohio State Peach Bowl - No. 2 Miami vs. 10 Indiana at 7 Texas Sugar Bowl - No. 3 Georgia vs. 11 Tennessee at 6 Penn State Four B1G - No. 1 OREGON, No. 4 Ohio State, No. 6 Penn State, and 10 Indiana. Show Puddles The $$$! Impliedly - Ohio State defeats Penn State and Indiana. Oregon rematches with the Buckeyes in the B1G champ game and wins again. Three SEC - No. 3 Georgia, No. 7 Texas, and No. 11 Tennessee. Impliedly - Georgia rematches with Texas in the SEC champ game and wins again. And with three teams in the mix, Greg Sankey is not a happy PO camper. Two ACC - No. 2 Miami and No. 9 Clemson. Impliedly - Miami and Clemson play in the ACC champ game. Miami wins which would be the Canes only Top 25 win of the season. Greg Sankey doubles down as an unhappy camper with two ACC teams with weak conference schedules in the field. One B12 Iowa State. One Independent Notre Dame. One Group of 5. Impliedley - Iowa State (now 7-0 for the first time ever!) wins the B12 champ game. Notre Dame defeats both ranked Army and Navy after defeating a Georgia Tech team without its starting QB and takes a nap on Conference Champ Game weekend. Mountain West champ Boise State finishes 12-1 and plays the Buckeyes in Columbus. Still a long way to go.
