I love this statement about Coach Lanning, "...I think Dan Lanning (Kansas City native) is one of the most likable dudes in college football right now as far as college football goes. Oregon Will Get an Official Visit From Newly-Offered Four-Star CB Khary Adams

January was a busy month on the recruiting trail for Dan Lanning and the Oregon staff, who extended an offer to four-star 2026 Towson (Md.) Loyola Blakefield cornerback Khary Adams.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound defensive back was visited by a laundry list of big-time programs during the contact period, but a few of the big schools that stand out were Oregon, Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame and USC.

Safeties coach and co-defensive coordinator Chris Hampton extended the scholarship offer prior to an in-home visit with On3’s No. 18 cornerback. Hampton was joined by Lanning and Tosh Lupoi for a second January visit with Adams prior to recruiting dead period.

“Oh, it means a lot,” he said of what the visit from the Ducks meant to him. “It was going well. We’re building a good relationship.”

The four-star defensive back has never visited Oregon before, but the chance to be a Duck isn’t one he’s taking lightly.

“It’s kind of like a dream for me and it’s good football,” he said of Oregon.

The opportunity to play his college football in Eugene is appealing for a number of reasons.

“To compete for a championship,” Adams said. “Great coaches and the coaches they have stability in the program. Coach Lanning was telling me he doesn’t plan to leave, he really plans to stay there.”

Oregon schedules official visit with No. 1 recruit in the class of 2026

Although the Oregon Ducks recently lost the top spot in the 2026 recruiting rankings, following USC's flip of Oregon quarterback commit Jonas Williams, the Ducks are still off to an amazing start in the 2026 cycle. With spring football set to kick off soon, coaches across the country are wrapping up recruiting trips and looking to book visits with the class's top recruits.

This week, Oregon Head Coach Dan Lanning and his staff did just that, booking an official visit with offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, the No. 1 recruit in the class of 2026 per 247Sports' composite rankings. Cantwell scheduled his Oregon visit for Jun. 20th, the last in a string of official visits that also includes, Miami, Missouri, Georgia, and Michigan.
