Solar No. 1 Share Posted December 10 Tez was not a finalist for the award. Final three are Hunter, McMillan and some dude from SJSU I've never heard of. Perhaps the injury took too much away from his season performance at a most inopportune time. Then again, if you look at how different our offense performed with him vs. without him... but I don't think they think that way for this award. Other notable non finalists are OSU and Bama freshman receivers.
DrJacksPlaidPants Moderator No. 2 Share Posted December 11 Neither of those three teams had a 1000 yard rusher. Colorado and SJSU didn’t even reach 1000 yard for the season as a team.
30Duck Moderator No. 3 Share Posted December 11 I guess they can't give it to a "Second Team" B1G receiver.
criticalduck No. 4 Share Posted December 11 How is Tez a second team anything??!! He ran circles around the entire B1G! Those post season rankings were crap.

They just looked at the stats, never watched the games, or notice that he barely played in 4 of them, a severe lack of critical thinking.
criticalduck No. 6 Share Posted December 11 They just had to watch the BCG. Who was named MVP? The ONLY receiver to get that distinction! PSU's vaunted D couldn't stop him from catching a cold. That was a load of cr*p!!
DuckHeart No. 7 Share Posted December 11 Tez was as 15th in number of receptions; 41st in number of yards; not in top 60 for yards per; 11th in TDs. Ducks are not pass happy on offense. Ducks have other receivers. That goes against winning individual awards. And that is OK, it's a sign of a very solid team and program. 1
Sandy Rocks No. 8 Share Posted December 11 It's sad that the only criteria for these awards is statistics. Players impact teams in so many ways. The ducks are a balanced team that scores in a multitude of different ways but as many have stated Tez gives this team so much more. I think they are just more confident when he is in the game.
criticalduck No. 9 Share Posted December 12 Tez out played every vaunted team he played against including the two best Ds in the B1G. He also doesn't need to push off, Jeremiah Smith, to get separation to make a catch. Joel full O'Klatt says that's not OPI because he talks to all refs. Yet Tez is second team and doesn't have to do that. Yes, OBD is balanced and I'm appreciative of that. Put the best receivers in a vacuum and Tez will out run, route, catch, and avoid all Ds. In my eye-test, Tez out-classes all receivers this year.

On Tez, they clearly never put eyes on his play through the year or they would have seen what he did, they looked at the stats, not noticing he missed 4 games.
