CjAllen180 No. 1 Share Posted Saturday at 11:00 PM (edited) Well, that was ugly. Penn State gave SMU the BUSINESS, securing a dominant 38-10 victory over the Mustangs earlier this afternoon. Just about everything that could possibly go wrong for SMU went wrong.. and yet, the Nittany Lion's beatdown of their first CFP opponent brought back thoughts of the B1G Championship Game, and I couldn't help but think to myself: "This game highlights just how GREAT Oregon really is!" Penn State's defense was all over SMU from the jump, and by all accounts they had a fantastic day. And yet, this same dominant defense had absolutely NO ANSWER for Oregon. No answer whatsoever. Safe to say, That Team Out West is gonna be hard to deal with! Sound off below! Edited Saturday at 11:42 PM by CjAllen180 1
Solar No. 2 Share Posted Saturday at 11:10 PM We beat them with a lot people playing sick too supposedly. I do think home field advantage is worth a ton for both Penn State and Notre Dame and Texas in a playoff game. I wish we played SMU at home today instead. Would have been a party. We'll see how Ohio State does in the shoe with half the fans from Tennessee. 1
30Duck Moderator No. 3 Share Posted Saturday at 11:11 PM I don't think one should take too much from Notre Dame's or Penn State's blowout wins, they were both against CFP space fillers and did little to show how good the Irish or Nittany Lions are. Notre Dame did all it had to with the 98 yard TD run. Penn State didn't have to use Warren at all on offense, and besides wind sprints for a couple of Pick-6's, the defense just had to go through the motions. 1
Sandy Rocks No. 4 Share Posted Saturday at 11:28 PM To me the play that defines Oregon this year was during the Wisconsin game. The last game of an eight game stand on a cold night when Gabriel, who hadn't played well the entire game along with most of the offense, threw a bullet to Terrance Ferguson in a fourth and nine situation. Without that and the later interception, the ducks would not be the number one seed. I think playing eight games with no breaks and flying across the country a number of times toughed the ducks. They are not the same team that played Ohio State.
Just Ducky No. 5 Share Posted Saturday at 11:38 PM To me these first 3 games were pretty easy to pick. When you have this many teams this will happen in the first round every year. We will have to deal with this because of the money not because of the quality of the teams. It’s always about the money.
Grandpa Duck No. 6 Share Posted Saturday at 11:53 PM Well maybe Clemson is not a space filler. 1
Jon Joseph Moderator No. 7 Share Posted Saturday at 11:55 PM How in the Name of All that Is good, Righteous, Holy, and Kosher, Did These Fools Allow The INDIANA HOSERS, The SMU DEATH PENALTIES, AND The CLEMSON KITTY CATS INTO THE PLAYOFF? Did they not know 3 and 4 loss SEC teams were available? After All, Hasn't Every Super Bowl Game Been Close? Cue The Portal King! "We Only Lost 3 Games and 1 Loss Was at Home vs. Kentucky!" 'What's that, we didn't lose on the basketball court?" Big Whoop. It was still a loss to an SEC Team which in the Name of All Knowing Greg Hanky Panky DO NOT COUNT! " Tennessee, Y'All Have a Really Nice DAY! 1
Jon Joseph Moderator No. 8 Share Posted 23 hours ago The above post is with all due respect to our Athens Dawgs Bros. By any and every metric, the SEC is the Conference King. But the Portal King? He is an embarrassment and should be forgotten and left out of the Dawgs and Ducks FEBU.
