Has Stewart Been Questionable For the Past Month?

Recommended Posts

It would appear so according to this report. I thought he just got hurt in warmups but it looks like it was a lingering injury since the Championship game.

Oregon WR Evan Stewart was unable to play against Ohio State due to lower back injury

Sorry. I didn't realize that. I'll just post this quote from Stewart from the article.

"First practice back, after Big Ten, I got a lower-body injury, my back. I had been fighting it for a minute," said Stewart. "Today was the day I was going to test it out and it just wasn't good enough... I've been practicing the last week, two weeks, not full go but going as much as I can. Today was basically test day. I went through the full warmup, warmed up and stuff and it just wasn't good enough. Ultimately decided it wasn't it."

Like i said earlier, it seems like his status has been up in the air since the Big Ten Championship.

Stewart did not have the production that many expected, outside of the first Ohio State game. Not sure what his plans are but he needs to become more consistent (improve his route running?). If you are going to be a top receiver, you cannot have one big game and then disappear for the next several games.

Thanks.

I think the absence of Stewart was big, but doubt even a a healthy ES would have been enough to get the Ducks to the next round.

Simply didn't have the focused horses to build and sustain the momentum.

I hope Stewart returns.  I think Dante Moore throwing to him would be special.
