Right off this story is a bit wonky. The allegation is that Oregon offered a Boise State defensive player, but the player mentioned in this paragraph is an OT, from Happy Valley, Oregon.

“I know for a fact that just last week, after the Fiesta Bowl, one of the key starters on defense got a call from the Oregon Ducks offering him $700,000. (Offensive tackle) Kage Casey, Casey’s probably going to be a first-round pick. He would’ve probably been a high pick this year, but I do think he needs another year to develop … I’m sure he could’ve got close to a million dollars in the portal.”

I'm Shocked!

An agent of OBD may have made an offer to a player's agent but the agent will not be directly associated with OBD. Division Street did not fall off of the last pumpkin wagon passing through Glendale. 😛

Of course, the G5 more than ever before is a training ground for players not offered by the P4 out of high school.

Judging by the way Oregon’s defense played the final two games, they probably should have offered him a million. 😂

Oh, this was supposed to be a negative?

Not like they offered the night before we played them or something. 😂

"..allegation is that Oregon offered a Boise State defensive player, but the player mentioned in this paragraph is an OT.."

That is a clumsily written paragraph.  The coach speaking was referring to NIL offer for a D-player.  Then, changed subject to make a comment about one of his O-players.   The writer should have made a paragraph break.
