From CBS Sports. In my opinion, the demise of the SEC has been exaggerated but the B1G does have the horses with the resources.

The Big Ten can pay players now -- guilt-free. Does it mean the end of the SEC's utter dominance?

The rumors of my death have been exaggerated- Mark Twain

Who knew that would come back and apply to the SEC football factory. I'm not saying that that the SEC is dead. But I believe the dominance it held for more than a decade is gone. The SEC is having a hard time accepting that, going to extremes I think, to say nothing has changed.

But, the NIL Transfer Portal, expanded Playoff is a tide that even Alabama can't roll over. The B1G isn't going anywhere. The SEC is probably better 9th place down, which means they might sweep the PopTart Bowl for the next decade. A non SEC team is going to win the championship, and it's more likely than it has been for a long time, that will be the case next year.

If this continues unabated, college football players will have to take a pay cut to go to the NFL!
