Oregon starts with a hot first quarter, 21-8.

Now Ducks up 35-23 at the break. Lots of bench production and 4/5 from beyond the arc. Winning both offensive and defensive boards.

Michigan St a darn good team so this is a great display for OBD on the road. Keep it up in the 2nd half.

Oregon 35 Michigan State 23 at halftime. Oregon came into the game with the worst 3 point % in the B1G, made 80% , 4-5 in the first half. Last time the MSU trailed at halftime was to Iowa by 5, they came back to win that one by 2.

Oops, wrong on O boards, MSU has slight edge, but Ducks way ahead on assists

Not the prettiest 3rd quarter and Philly missed 4 free throws in a row, but Ducks now up by 15 at 55-40. Expect MSU to foul Kyei every touch to stop easy buckets and keep her going to the line.

That got ugly in a hurry. Kyei finally back in as there was no post presence, but she still can't make a FT

And Philly saves the day with great defense and 3 FTs in a row. MSU got it to within 3 but better defense anchored by Kyei held on for a 63-59 win. Maybe a top 25 ranking now for the Ducks.

It was the first loss for Michigan State at home, so Oregon snapped that streak and MSU's current 5 game winning streak. Oregon is currently on a 4 game winning streak. with an average score of 59-52.  Oregon came in dead last in 3 pt, shooting, cooled off a bit, but still finished 6-14, 42.9, while Michigan State who leads in 3 % finished 4-16, 25%.

It got scary with Kyei on the bench, but after missing free throws earlier, she hit 3 at the end, hers was a dominating game we haven't seen from a player on either Oregon team this season.

Philly is so dominant inside that if she can hit 70% of her FTs, they can run the offense through her like they did in the first half. She stopped Ayrault for MSU cold in the last five minutes after she lit Oregon up for most of the 4th qtr.

35-23 - halftime
55-40 - end of third
63-59 final - MSU got it to 58-55, after Ducks led 55-38 in third

The Ducks first win over a ranked team on the opponent home floor since 2021 when they beat No. 7 Beavis in Corvallis.

Former Duck Grace Van Slooten had 14 pts for Michigan State.  MSU had 59.

Duck Sarah Rambus from Flint, Michigan had relatives at the game.  Played 13 minutes, 5 points.   Flint is about 50 miles from both East Lansing and Ann Arbor.

Next game at 9:00 am PT (Noon ET) on Sunday at Michigan.   Early starts can be tough, but players will get back to Eugene at a decent time.
