I would be shocked if DG lands with the 49ers.

If rumors of Purdy's contract being just less than $50M / year are true, that is a deal they would take in an instant. As a wild 49ers fan, I follow all the 49ers beat writers / content creators, and the big worry is if Purdy would try to reset the QB market at $60M / year. I think fans and content creators, alike, would be ecstatic for the current rumored contract. Also, unless Trent Williams can switch to RT, then DG would be getting flattened on a regular basis; 49ers have a serious RT problem.

Not sure where he could end up, but I know I'll root for him if he ever ends up a starting NFL QB.

I like Gabriel at Detroit, backing up Goff. Lots of weapons and a very good RT, named Penei.

Purdy being one of the highest pad QB's, maybe the highest, doesn't make $ence to me. This last season is more representative of his level than the earlier seasons. I hope the 49ers can get him at around $50M.

A QB out of the B1G who stretched to be 6' tall? Drew Brees.

With his record-breaking pass in Senior Bowl practices, close to 75 mph, Gabe has the arm strength.

I think a solid Draft Combine where he will shine in his interviews, could get him into the early 3rd round. It only takes one front office to like your chances and lots of NFL teams need QB help.

Brock Purdy, $50+M a year? I wonder what Jim McMahon, Steve Young, and Drew Brees think about this?

This would be amazing. The reason QB salaries have reached the ridiculous level they have is because the next one is always higher than the others. Brady was different, he was never the highest paid QB, which in a salary cap sport is helpful, but he never had really highly paid teammates. Mahomes is currently No.12 on the highest paid list. Every QB needs talented players around him, Montana had Rice and Taylor, but I see Purdy more similar to Garoppolo.

I've liked Purdy since I first saw him playing at Iowa State years ago and have admired the success he has achieved in SF after being Mr. Irrelevant in his draft class. But $50 Mil a year? That is flippin ridiculous and is one of the reasons that I no longer buy NFL tickets these days.

Draft Days will be Ducks Days. Lots of guys drafted = B1G time help with recruiting.

PFF has Gabe going in the 5th round.
