Posted April 8Apr 8 The final college basketball rankings included five Big Ten schools. 7 Michigan State 9 Maryland 10 Michigan 14 Purdue 16 Wisconsin The way-to-early basketball projections for the 2025-2026 season are: 2 Purdue 5 Michigan 10 UCLA 14 Wisconsin 18 Michigan State 23 Ohio State 26 Illinois 30 Oregon Jon Wilner's picks: 5 Michigan 13 UCLA 15 Purdue 19 Iowa 23 Michigan State Honorable Mention: Oregon Yikes! This doesn't look good at all. Let's hope Bittle returns and Coach Altman can get some guys through the transfer portal. It certainly isn't getting any easier being in the Big Ten. Go Ducks!
April 8Apr 8 Moderator OREGON tied for the 26th-best odds to win it all in 2026. 2026 NCAA championship odds: Duke early favorite over Houston to win national title in March Madness next year - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM With the 2024-25 season wrapped, it's time to take an early look at the 2025-26 landscape Thanks, sports fan, for the great post. I'm always interested in what folks with money at risk think.
April 8Apr 8 Administrator Oh my! With such an outlook...I'm heading to where the Ducks are going...the CRAPPER. (Ya think it is a bit early to be negative?) Mr. FishDuck
April 8Apr 8 Moderator Way to Early basketball predictions are just as useless as football are. It's hard to project Oregon to challenge in the B1G. It is good to remember though that Florida wasn't picked to win the SEC.

Wild thing about basketball is that one player can flip everything, anyone guessing anything prior to the portal running its course is just…guessing. As to Wilner, at this point he’s up there with clownzano in my world view. Edited April 8Apr 8 by JabbaNoBargain
April 9Apr 9 Ducks were 27th in AP ranking with 25-10 record. Six ranked teams had 24 wins or less. Four of those 6 were from the SEC, such as No. 20 Arkansas (22-14) The Ducks were 8-8 in Quad 1 games, 10-2 in Quad 2. Perhaps some of the AP voters aren't paying attention? That being said about 2025, the Ducks have not been consistently ranked in the final AP ranking in the last few years. 2025: 27th 2024: 27th 2023: NR 2022: NR 2021: 31st 2020: 13th - no Tournament, so 13th final regular season poll 2019: NR 2018: NR 2017: 9th in AP before Tournament, final Coaches poll was No. 3 after Duck's Final Four appearance 2016: 5th
April 9Apr 9 Remember that nobody had Florida as a top 25 program. Heck all year Florida never got one first place vote despite blowing out number one Tennessee and Auburn on the road. Florida lost four SEC games against teams that all made the tournament btw and no other losses. They blew out Alabama and Tennessee to win the SEC tournament and barely got the last one seed. Florida isn't even top 20 in the top early rankings next year. The basketball people have Houston number one, Duke number two and Auburn top 5. Look at all the players they're losing and tell me they don't have unknowns. But in the end it doesn't matter. Florida didn't have one top 150 player on it's to roster this year. Guess who has the trophy though? A team that was built through NIL in the portal. Oregon has a pretty good NIL collective I've heard. Remember that Todd Golden had never won a single NCAA tournament game before this year. Oregon doesn't have that issue either. Let the media disrespect the Duck. The B1G hasn't won a title in 25 years, what better way to celebrate your second year in the conference than winning the championship in both basketball and football. A feat that only one program has ever done before. Go prove them wrong. The basketball media is worse than the football if you can believe it.
