Charles Fischer   Administrator  No. 1 Share Posted 4 hours ago The unbelievable weekend generated an unbelievable result in the D1Baseball polls for Our Beloved Ducks. They went from No. 16 last week to No. 6 in the nation, while Oregon State dropped from No. 3 to a very respectable No.7...having to Duck-below their rival in Eugene in the poll.  What is interesting also is how the west coast has three teams in the top 10, (as does the ACC) and I am not sure I have witnessed both Oregon and Oregon State in the top ten EVER at the same time. I am sure I will have a press release coming to me soon about the historical significance of this week's poll.  Regardless, it is a proud moment for College Baseball in the state of Oregon!   The only other team ranked in the top-25 from the B1G is No. 14 UCLA, while Iowa is unranked. I assume it is because the majority of their wins are against sub-.500 teams, but it will get settled when the Ducks travel to Iowa City for the final three-game series of the conference season in three weeks.  D1Baseball Top 25: Texas remains No. 1; chaos reigns throughout rankings • D1Baseball D1BASEBALL.COM While Texas remains the No. 1 team in the land, the rest of the rankings are filled with carnage after a tumultuous Week 11.  For the first time EVER...they feature a picture of Oregon Baseball at D1Baseball for their lead rankings article! That is Cole Stokes exulting at a key strike-out late in the second game...  My Duck-Buddies....I NEVER thought last weekend would happen, as I hoped for a split between the four games in order to have a chance at hosting a NCAA Playoff Regional Series. But now...if we keep winning most of our remaining games--we have a shot at hosting a Super-Regional? Holy Crap!  1 1 1 1 1 Mr. FishDuck

I posted in another thread that I thought Beavs would drop to 6, and OBD would jump to 10. I definitely didn't see this. The Beavs are wacked now. The Ducks just swept the traditional series. Now, the Ducks are 6 and they're 7, with a game in Corvallis tomorrow night. OBD have to stay calm.
Charles Fischer   Author Administrator  No. 4 Share Posted 3 hours ago Beginning to warm up about our Diamond Ducks? I suggest you go to the game threads below and read about how Oregon won those games. I insert videos from the Oregon Baseball "X" account, so you can see the home runs, big strikeouts, and incredible fielding plays.  Don't have or want an "X" (Twitter) account? Get one anyway so you can watch my video posted, because I personally never post on my "X" site, never read it, and never even go to my "X" site! You don't have to! Just sign up, and then unsubscribe from their emails and you won't have any hassle, but can watch the Oregon Sports videos put in OBD forum posts.  Just Do It! Such a lovely sight...  1 1 Mr. FishDuck
Charles Fischer   Author Administrator  No. 5 Share Posted 2 hours ago OK...that big THUD you heard outside was Mr. FishDuck coming back to earth. Oregon is ranked No. 10 in the USA TODAY Baseball poll, and No. 12 in Baseball America. I have focused on D1Baseball, as most do, but we cannot ignore the other major polls.  This means that if the Ducks win the majority of their remaining games, then they should be a shoo-in to host a NCAA Playoff Regional Series at PK Park. But they have a stretch to host a Super-Regional, and that would come only if Oregon won nearly all their games remaining.  It is possible as they play at Oregon State on Tuesday, three games at Michigan State this weekend, (with two mid-week home games versus St. Marys next week) then at home for three against the Bastard-Huskies, and finish at Iowa for three games.  Let's Go Ducks! Another Dom-Bomb coming!  Mr. FishDuck
Charles Fischer   Author Administrator  No. 6 Share Posted 2 hours ago In terms of RPI rankings, Oregon is No. 34 with the NCAA, and No. 35 with Warren Nolan who is well recognized. Got some more work to do!  Mr. FishDuck
30Duck   Moderator  No. 7 Share Posted 1 hour ago Okay, Super Regional might not happen. But a regional? OBD just have to keep doin' what they're doin! The SWEEP of the Beavs had Oregon showing what they can do at bat, in the field & on the mound. Grinsell is becoming an Ace, Reitz, has had innings, in his last 2 starts that were pull-worthy, but Was, knows his pitchers. Reitz stayed in and did fine. As bad as yesterday was, 4 straight full count walks, but the only run the Beavs could get out of it was a forced run!
David Marsh    No. 8 Share Posted 1 hour ago Thank you Charles for keeping track on Oregon Baseball and Softball. As someone who loves the Ducks though isn't a baseball or softball fan it's nice to get updates in a nice digestible manner.  Additionally.... the Beavers had basically ONE thing over the Ducks in baseball and we just took that away from them!
