NJDuck Moderator No. 1 Share Posted 6 hours ago This was a pivotal week across the country in college baseball. The stakes were obviously high, and there are a ton of changes in D1Baseball’s latest top 25 rankings as we shift into the final week of the regular season. 5. Oregon Previous Ranking: No. 5 Weekly Record: 5-0 Overall Record: 38-13 (19-8 in Big Ten) Oregon’s week got underway with a pair of midweek victories against Saint Mary’s, 6-3 on Tuesday and 8-1 on Wednesday. They then hosted a Washington team fighting to get into the postseason over the weekend, and might have crushed their hopes. The Ducks won 5-0 on Friday and 6-4 on Saturday to clinch the series, and 5-3 to finish the sweep on Sunday. College Baseball Rankings: New No. 1 headlines changes to D1Baseball Top 25 - On3 WWW.ON3.COM The final week of college baseball's regular season is upon us, and D1Baseball has made some big changes to their latest top 25 rankings.
Charles Fischer Administrator No. 2 Share Posted 6 hours ago Good to see Oregon State at No. 7 to further justify Oregon's No. 5 position with D1Baseball, while UCLA is No. 14, and we are the only B1G teams in the top-25 in the D1Baseball rankings. At Baseball America...Oregon is No. 9, while Oregon State is No. 11, and UCLA No. 20. Why such a difference...I do not know. Oregon's RPI has climbed to No. 19 with both RPI ranking services, and we got a boost from Oregon State at No. 6. This is the highest our RPI has been all season, and we could get another boost if the Ducks were to sweep Iowa this weekend. I am feeling good about an NCAA Baseball Regional, but not so much for a Super-Regional at this point. Still waiting on the other polls... spartan2785 No. 3 Share Posted 4 hours ago Yeah, I am very worried about that series against Iowa, they're a good team, it's on the road, it's going to be tough. It would be one thing if Iowa was a top 25 team but they're non-con schedule was so abysmal they aren't ranked even though they're top of the conference for the moment. Can't do anything about it though other than keep winning.

At one time...the majority of their opponents had barely won over 40% of their games, and that was 2/3rds the way through the season. They have good pitching, but Washington took two out of three from them, and Oregon State did not lose there so...I believe we are the better team--but have to show it. 1 Mr. FishDuck
Charles Fischer Administrator No. 5 Share Posted 4 hours ago The USA TODAY rankings have Oregon at No. 7, Oregon State at No. 10, and UCLA at No. 15 with no other B1G team ranked other than the two of us. I think 30Duck is right in that the Ducks have to sweep Iowa, and win the B1G Tournament to have a shot at a Super-Regional, and we have not seen the worst of the rankings to come out yet. Now THAT is a great catch! 1 Mr. FishDuck
Charles Fischer Administrator No. 6 Share Posted 3 hours ago The NCBWA poll, (I don't know who they are) have consistently ranked us the worst over the season, and their rankings this week have: No. 6 Oregon State No. 10 UCLA No. 19 Oregon Did an Oregon fan pee-in-their-punchbowl? The Ducks swept Oregon State all four games, and took the series from UCLA...and I have no explanation. So the Ducks are No. 5, No. 7, No. 9....and No. 19th? sports fan No. 9 Share Posted 3 hours ago The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) was founded in 1962, is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists. (That says it all right there) The officers of the NCBWA are affiliated with the following universities... Troy, Dayton, Arizona State, Penn State, West Virginia, Liberty, East Carolina, North Texas and Baylor. I wouldn't put too much stock in their rankings. D1 Baseball is the best option.

THANK YOU for that...sorry I was so lazy to not look it up, and I appreciate it when someone else does. Boy that explains a ton, as Oregon seems to be on everybody's dart board among writers at other schools. Mr. FishDuck

Finding agreement in the polls is about as rare as an unassisted triple play.
sports fan No. 12 Share Posted 1 hour ago Followup to the NCBWA rankings posted this week, # 6 Oregon State, # 10 UCLA and # 19 Oregon. These guys are being lazy in their weekly ranking of schools. These numbers are the current RPI for this week. As you mentioned previously, Oregon swept OSU and took two out of three against the Bruins. I doubt these clowns know that. And Iowa has an RPI of #67. Here is a break down of Oregon's wins. QUAD ONE QUAD TWO QUAD THREE QUAD FOUR 9-1 4-2 16-7 9-3
