Oregon 2026 commit Prince Tavizon will reclassify from 2027 to 2026, he announced on Tuesday. Tavizon is an edge prospect from San Diego

On Tuesday afternoon, Oregon's 2026 recruiting class grew when edge commit Prince Tavizon reclassified from 2027 to join this cycle's commit list. Tavizon announced the news on social media.

Tavizon is a 6-foot-3 and 245 pound edge prospect from San Diego. Prior to changing classes, he'd been ranked the 76th overall recruit and the 13th best edge prospect in the 2027 class. 

Oregon's 2026 class currently includes two defensive line pledges from 4-star Tony Cumberland and 3-star Dutch Horisk. The class had ranked 12th nationally and included 14 verbal pledges before Tavizon's decision

Not sure how I feel about this.

Players who reclassify tend to have to sit out a year or two anyways before making an impact because of body development more than anything else.

I'll have to see if I can find the article but someone did a break down of how reclassified players rarely reach the potential of their rankings.

So hoping this plays out well.

Well, he is a Rivals 4-Star and improves our 2026 class!

Kinda of a studly-looking guy...good for defense!

Maybe he was held back a year when he was younger, and will graduate with his actual age group. In which case he is short on a year of experience rather than physical development.

And Penei Sewell did pretty well as a 17 year old freshman..
