JS: I keep coming back to what former Stanford coach David Shaw told me when USC and UCLA bolted to the Big Ten. Shaw said he believed geography would ultimately win. I think Cal and Stanford both end up in a conference (or division) that is anchored in the Pacific Time Zone.

Cal and Stanford are irrelevant as far as football goes, who is the head coach at Stanford now? The coach at Cal is some guy named Wilcox.

Neither Cal or Stanford care enough about football to make the financial commitment necessary to compete seriously at national level. Their addition wouldn't raise the bar much in any case.

The "Pac" whatever will never be considered a power conference. They will be lucky to get lower bowl bids. Mr JC is completely delusional. Got to appreciate his attempts to garner attention and beat that Pac(St)eight drum though. He is relentless, in a most enjoyable and humorous way.

I doubt either "comes back." But, for the Beavis folks who believe that they will, they assume that when they come back they will still have the same status as when both were members of the 2023-24 Pac12. That is an error in logic, in my opinion. If they come back they will have accepted the notion that they no longer care about being a Power 4 level program. They will not bring prestige to the new Pac because they will no longer be evaluated to be at that former level.

It will be akin to saying, "we are now at the Fresno State and San Diego State level." Rather than, Fresno and SDSU claiming they have increased prestige from their association with Cal/Stanford.

You bet, coming back to play Texas State instead of Duke.

Still blows my mind how BSU & SDSU came racing in like a couple of rabid dogs. This league clearly has no strategy. They will talk about geography ultimately whining while actively trying to add Memphis to the conference.

And Memphis ain't exactly beating the doors down to associate with the Pac. Yesterday's news was that they were willing to part with Big Dollars to buy their way into the Big12.

What are they offering the Pac? Coupons for one free dinner at the Cozy Corner BBQ?
