We invite you to always explore the “News” on the menu bar in the header.

When you click on the word “News,” you will see an index of multiple links to sports news sites for your enjoyment!

From now on, except for a very few circumstances, our threads will be just one page. Advertising only appears on the first page and we want to make as much money as possible for the site.  The bonus in doing this is that it will be easier for everyone to move around the thread.

This Thread is for News Articles ONLY.  You can always start a new thread with any of these articles for discussion.

Oregon Ducks open as three-score favorites over Minnesota Golden Gophers

It was a sloppy, rainy game that saw multiple turnovers and offensive mishaps, but in the end Oregon still got the win. They faced one of the better teams in the country in Iowa, but they will have a bit of a reprieve this week against the Minnesota Golden Gophers

First odds posted for Minnesota at Oregon

Oregon has to turn the page quickly. After a gutsy, emotional 18-16 win over Iowa in Kinnick Stadium Saturday afternoon they host Minnesota Friday night.

Big Ten schedulers don't seem to want Oregon to repeat, or even succeed

After a gritty win against Iowa the Ducks have to play 6-3 Minnesota on Friday night with the Gophers coming off a bye.

Oregon beat Iowa 18-16, marching 54 yards in the last two minutes, Atticus Sappington drilling a 36-yard field goal in swirling winds and driving rain with :07 to play.

They beat the No. 20 Hawkeyes in Kinnick Stadium but the Big Ten schedulers don't seem to think that's enough. Now 8-1, the Ducks play in six days. Minnesota enjoys a full 14 days to prepare, having last played at home November 1st against Michigan State, a game they won 23-20 in overtime.

That's absurd scheduling that handicaps the defending conference champions. You couldn't hand P.J. Fleck's team a bigger scheduling advantage, unless the game was moved to Bloomington.
