Yesterday at 12:11 AM1 day No. BYU barely beats GT in their bowl game. TTU beating them twice was a feather in their cap. TTU is very similar in style to Iowa in the sense that they have a strong defense and special teams, and are 1st in turnover margin and takeaways that give the offense a short field. TTU is better than Iowa, but we have seen this type of team before playing against the bad weather and the refs and won by avoiding turnovers and 3rd and longs (outside the penalties).I think this similarly could be a low scoring game in the high teens low 20s.The line is starting to shift in Oregon's favor a bit too, up to 2.5 now. I think it will continue to drift higher as the game gets closer.
Yesterday at 12:32 AM1 day No. Yes, I just watched that BYU game. GT really dominated for 3 quarters. They were kicking a short field goal to go up 24-10 at the end of the third and it got blocked. GT kindof gave the game away afterwards. In any case, BYU didn't look great against a GT team that at least on paper this season doesn't look very strong. Also consider that BYU's QB was injured early in that second TTU game and had very limited mobility for most of it. I'm probably as wary of TTU as anybody on this board given their great pass rush (similar to Indiana's which gave Dante some fits), but I don't think BYU is that great and those 2 wins are a lot of what TTU's reputation is based on this year.

I'm glad Tech has this long layoff - I think it will be hard for them to be crisp. I hope they all ate a lot of twinkies and played a lot of video games during this long spell.

After Utah, BYU twice were their next two biggest wins and BYU was picked to finish 9th in the preseason poll. Sometimes that jump is totally legit and sometimes it is because most of the conference was expected to be good and wasn't. Someone has to finish 3-5. I watched Houston against Oregon State and the teams looked pretty even. They finished forth. Arizona finished 5th and well, it's still post-Fisch Arizona. Utah I think was very solid but they averaged 41 points a game? 41? I think they were beating up on some JAG conference opponents.I see the ducks winning by more than a touchdown. I think the Big 12 is weak compared to the Big 10. The Ducks blue chip; talent will over power Texas Tech.

They’re going to bring a lot of fans because they haven’t played in a major bowl game as a conference champion since 1995. They’re also Texans, so they’re genetically predisposed to spending a lot of money to go watch football. However, the Ducks seem to have a good plan in place for crowd noise as we saw in a few games this season.I can't remember any bowl game that Oregon had the largest share of the crowd.
