247/7 had a podcast in regard to the Lake dismissal and touched on his recruiting style.  They quoted an anonymous recruit who said all of the other programs made you feel like you were their priority whereas uw made it seem like you were fortunate to get their offer.

This seems to have also been the Peterson philosophy.  Of course, one of the reasons Peterson retired was his tiredness of recruiting.

Texas is doing a meltdown. But there is a serious case to be made that Washington is the saddest Po5 team in the country. Other teams have worse records, but what other PO5 team had an 0-12 recently?

It isn't just the fans. The football team has the same delusions of grandeur. Petersen saw that Oregon was getting back on track and left, and while Mullens has hole in one's on his hires, Altman, Lombardi, Cristobal, Cohen has Lake and Hopkins. With all the other coching openings, Cohen might have to hire Softy.
