30Duck No. 1 Share Posted January 8, 2021 It looks like Mario is going to need to hire a new Defensive Coordinator, as Avalos is going back to where he played to now become the head coach.
Charles Fischer Administrator No. 2 Share Posted January 8, 2021 Can't fault him but darn....another new defensive system? Mr. FishDuck
30Duck Author No. 3 Share Posted January 8, 2021 Fortunately, one thing Mario has done very well is hire new, and really good, additions to his staff. We saw a while ago that there are a lot of coaches for Mario to look at, and he might be somebody tat nobody knows. The Ducks did well with a guy from New Hampshire nobody knew. David Marsh No. 4 Share Posted January 8, 2021 I know MC will pick whoever is the best fit... but personally I don't know if I want to see an inside hire or an outside hire. An inside hire would mean that the system may be tweaked but not drastically changed... but an outside hire would bring in new blood and potentially something better. Charles Fischer Administrator No. 5 Share Posted January 9, 2021 We had a great article this week about the candidates who could replace Avalos... I don't think Jim Leavitt is on the list... Mr. FishDuck
David Marsh No. 6 Share Posted January 9, 2021 Just now, Charles Fischer said: I don't think Jim Leavitt is on the list... Taggart and Leavitt seem like great buddies these days... it seems kinda funny to me how those two really seemed to click. Both also seem happier in Florida as well. BigDucksFan No. 7 Share Posted January 9, 2021 It's always hard to "start over" and takes time to, once again, learn a new system.
