Steven A Moderator No. 1 Share Posted April 23, 2022 NCAA college football rules panel approves changes to targeting rule, faking injuries WWW.ESPN.COM In an effort to clarify things regarding injuries, the NCAA playing rules oversight panel approved three measures Wednesday that will take effect in 2022. No. 1 Targeting, sounds reasonable. Hopefully ESPN junked their #3 truck so there will be replay at those venues. No. 2 Fake injuries, I think any injury should require the player to sit the rest of the series. Otherwise, the player with an NIL for the bottom of his cleats will abuse the rule No. 3 Does the tackle box move with a rollout?
1Ducker1 No. 2 Share Posted April 24, 2022 Im not sure about No 3 and exactly that will work or how it will be called. I can understand it way in the backfield but anywhere else I dont know. Sounds like more time for TV ads to me.
Jon Joseph Moderator No. 3 Share Posted April 24, 2022 IMO, all are good. Especially the targeting appeal. As to 1 Ducker 1's comment: If a call is not overturned within 2 minutes of review, the call on the field should stand.
