Charles Fischer Administrator No. 1 Share Posted September 19, 2022 The defense is progressing slower than the offense, but I did not realize this below. I gotta give credit where due, or is this because of pass-happy teams? Statistically speaking: Oregon Ducks run defense off to best start since early 2019 WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM The No. 15 Ducks are allowing 97.7 rushing yards per game, fourth in the Pac-12 and 33rd nationally, after limiting BYU to just 61 yards on 24 carries during their 41-20 win on Saturday. David Marsh No. 2 Share Posted September 19, 2022 That's a good start because Oregon played Georgia and BYU so there are two teams that actually like to run the ball. Meanwhile I am sure there are plenty of teams ahead of Oregon in this state who haven't played anyone of consequence yet so their stats are padded. I will say this... It appears that both the Lanning and Dillingham systems are fairly complicated or can be. So players taking time to learn them is no surprise. Keeping players in the program for multiple years will pay big dividends as they get to know the system inside and out. 1
