Dolphins hoping to develop Verone McKinley III as second Oregon safety. Where he stands

With Verone McKinley III, the Dolphins know they have at the very least, a developmental safety with upside and a special teams player. The question is whether they have a long-term rotational player on defense, something that must still play out.

“There’s growth that he needs to make as a young player and those things will come with time, but I think he’s done a really good job of being a mature player, understanding the situation that he’s in and trying to go out and execute at a high level and communicate and do things that we need to do to try to win football games,” safeties coach Steve Gregory said in late December of McKinley, before Gregory was fired five days after the playoff loss to Buffalo.

Kellen Moore could help Justin Herbert have best NFL season yet

The Los Angeles Chargers made a much needed move at offensive coordinator this offseason, hiring former Boise State quarterback and Cowboys OC Kellen Moore to replace Joe Lombardi.

Lombardi’s offense was tenth in the NFL last season, but they were horrendous on the ground, with their 89.6 rushing yards per game good for 30th in the league.

Moore will help balance LA’s offensive attack, and while at first glance that may seem problematic for star quarterback Justin Herbert, Locked on Chargers host Daniel Wade believes it could end up being a good thing for the former Oregon legend.

How Nyara Sabally will fit with New York Liberty in 2023

Sabally was drafted last year by New York with the knowledge that she might end up sitting for the entire year, and that ended up being the case as she took a job as an assistant coach at Sacramento State while rehabbing and preparing to make her WNBA debut in 2023.

Now Sabally is ready to go, but she faces a New York roster that was completely overhauled this offseason.

Former Oregon teammate Sabrina Ionescu is still in tow, but she is now joined by former MVP Jonquel Jones, former Seattle Storm superstar Breanna Stewart, and point guard Courtney Vandersloot – forming an absolute superteam in the Big Apple.
