Is this 2022 or 2012 with everyone yelling at Nick Aliotti for giving up too many points? There is a pattern, and some consistency to it all. Yet Lanning has updated the formula, and if you missed this article explaining (my opinion) his new Game-Strategy--you may want to take a few minutes... Is Lanning's New Game-Plan...Chip Kelly 2.0? Once the Ducks build depth on D and everyone knows the system we should be in much better shape against tougher opponents, especially if they can increase turnovers. The strategy of letting a team march down the field killing the clock and then holding them to a field goal while you score TDs is working well to burn the clock on both ends. DanLduck No. 3 Share Posted October 31, 2022 Don't forget a lot of points are coming against the defense in the 4th quarter after the game is in hand. A combination of 2nd and 3rd string players and maybe a natural inclination to ease off the gas a little. Also note that so far, Lanning has made zero attempts to run up a score or even add points when not necessary. He had said the most important defensive stat is W and L's.
