January 18, 20232 yr Gebbia has said multiple times he wants to coach. This would be a way to get his foot in the door for a Grad Assistant position when he exhausts his eligibility. The guy will have been around college football for 7 years by the time he is done playing. He's not afraid of losing the battle to be a starter, he's more concerned with seeing how the big boys play. He'll be coaching QBs or calling plays by the end of the decade.
