Oregon Spring Game Visitor List Taking Shape

Last year, Oregon hosted a huge recruiting weekend during its Spring Game. Visitors included eventual Oregon signees Jurrion Dickey, Rodrick Pleasant, Cole Martin and Blake Purchase, as well as such high-end targets as 5-stars David Hicks and Johntay Cook.

In Dan Lanning’s second season, the 2023 visitors’ list already figures to top last year’s. Two 5-star and top 5 recruits nationally already have scheduled visits for April 29.

On3’s No. 1 player in the country, edge Dylan Stewart, recently told Hayes Fawcett that his visits include a trip to Oregon’s spring game. Stewart will see a handful of other schools this spring, including Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama and Michigan.

The No. 10 player in the country, 5-star safety KJ Bolden from Georgia, recently connected with On3’s Chad Simmons and announced his visit schedule. He’ll be in Eugene on April 29 for Oregon’s Spring Game after having attended USC’s Spring Game two weeks prior.

The Oregon Ducks continue to make a strong push at the start of the 2024 recruiting cycle, where they already have a class that is ranked inside the top 10 of the nation and has a good chance to get better.

On Tuesday, one of the top safeties in the class, 4-star Aaron Flowers, announced his top 10 schools and had the Ducks in the fold. Flowers is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 11 safety in the class and No. 175 overall player in 2024.

Jason Zandamela on A’lique Terry, Oregon Interest

The Ducks are pursuing a top offensive lineman from Florida in the 2024 class. When Dan Lanning hired A'lique Terry, his fire on the recruiting trail was something that immediately stood out.

He played a big role in the Ducks recruiting Jackson Powers-Johnson in the 2021 class when he was on the staff under Mario Cristobal and he's gotten right to work since rejoining the Ducks.

One of the players he has his eye on is 2024 interior offensive lineman Jason Zandamela from Clearwater (Fla.) Clearwater International Academy, who was offered by Adrian Klemm.

The 6-foot-3, 286-pound lineman is originally from Mozambique and moved to the U.S. prior to the 2022 season. He spoke with John Garcia Jr. at the Under Armour Next camp in Orlando and has started to build a relationship with Terry at Oregon.

"Coach Terry recently got hired. He's a Florida guy. Spoke to him. I love how he talks. He's very straight up about everything and he's gonna be real with you as well," Zandamela said."

Top-10 RB Jeremy Payne puts Oregon among top schools in 2024

The Oregon Ducks have a strong history at the running back position over the past several decades, and that hasn’t changed at all under Carlos Locklyn, who took over as the RB coach under Dan Lanning in 2022.

The Ducks have brought a number of highly-rated RBs to Eugene over the past couple of seasons, landing guys like Jordan James, Dante Dowdell, and Jayden Limar in the recruiting world, while also bringing Bucky Irving and Noah Whittington to Eugene via the transfer portal.

It appears that Oregon is in good shape going forward, as well, landing among the top schools for 2024 4-star RB Jeremy Payne. Standing at 5-foot-10, 170 pounds, Payne is rated as the No. 10 RB in the class, and No. 153 overall player in the nation, per 247Sports.

The Ducks extended an offer to Payne back in December of last year, and have not yet received a visit from the Texas back. We will likely see that change going forward.

5-star QB Dylan Raiola to visit Eugene for Oregon's Spring Game

We already knew that 5-star EDGE Dylan Stewart and 5-star S KJ Bolden would be in attendance for visits to Oregon that weekend, but now news from 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong shows that 5-star QB Dylan Raiola is planning a visit to Eugene for that weekend as well.

Raiola, who was previously committed to Ohio State, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 QB in the 2024 class, and the No. 1 overall player in the class as well.

After decommitting from the Buckeyes, it’s been said that he is strongly looking at the Ducks as a potential suitor, as well as the USC Trojans, Georgia Bulldogs, and Nebraska Cornhuskers.

If the Ducks can make a big impression on him when he is on campus in late April, it could go a long way in his recruitment, and could potentially convince him to come back to Eugene for an official visit down the line as well.

Ducks offer 4-star Air Noland, the No. 8 QB in 2024 class

Langston Hughes’ 4-star QB Air Noland received an Oregon offer on Thursday. Noland is rated by 247Sports as the No. 99 player in the 2024 class, and the No. 8 QB.

The Ducks have extended a lot of QB offers over the past several months in the 2024 class, so we can add this one to the list.

Noland has yet to take a visit to Eugene, but it wouldn’t be a shock to see him make his way out west at some point in the coming months.

College Football Teams Having the Most Success on the 2024 Recruiting Trail

While most of these teams are currently in the 247Sports composite's top 10, they all aren't. For instance, Texas Tech is currently ranked sixth nationally, but that's a little bit of fool's gold. The Red Raiders have just one 4-star prospect, and the rest are 3-stars.

So, even though you're sick of hearing about Alabama, the Crimson Tide sneaked in over coach Joey McGuire's team because of quality over quantity. The rest of the teams in those rankings have a healthy dosage of 4-star commits.

Many of the programs at the top have consistent recruiting success, but there are some off to better starts than they have in recent memory, too.

Here are the teams doing the best job extremely early in the '24 recruiting cycle.

Spring Recruiting Party: High-profile recruits expected in Eugene over the coming weeks

It feels like the world of college football is starting to wake up from hibernation. Since the start of February when national signing day took place, there hasn’t been much going on in the news cycle. Recruiting has been on a dead period, the transfer portal window was closed, and spring football was still weeks out.

However, that’s starting to change. The Oregon Ducks start spring practice later this week, and recruits from all over the country are starting to flock to Eugene, with a number of high-profile visits announced over the next few weeks.

Of course, the biggest recruiting weekend for Dan Lanning and Co. will be on April 29th with the annual Spring Game bringing the likes of 5-star QB Dylan Raiola, 5-star KJ Bolden, 5-star Dylan Stewart, and the entirety of the Elite 11 Camp to town. There are some incredibly important visits taking place between now and then as well.

Below are the scheduled visits that we have confirmed will take place in the months of March and April so far. Of course, more will be added to the list as time goes on.

Between now and the end of April, some of the best prospects in the nation will be taking visits to Oregon.

Cali DB Nikko Klemm has BYU, West Virginia and several Pac-12 schools pushing hard

Gardena (Calif.) Serra cornerback Nikko Klemm made the move to SoCal this off-season and should be an immediate impact player for the Cavs.

Klemm played his junior season at Eugene (Ore.) Sheldon. His father Adrian Klemm was the OL coach for the Oregon Ducks last season and is now coaching with the New England Patriots.

The younger Klemm is from the Southern California area so he’s essentially moving back home. He’s a talented cover corner with the positional versatility to play anywhere in the secondary.

We had a chance to see him at the SUP7R tournament two weeks ago to get an update on where his recruitment was at.

Social Media Buzz: Top recruits, transfer portal players react to weekend visits at Oregon

As spring football got going again for the Oregon Ducks this past week, we saw the activity pick up around campus as the recruiting staff got to work and hosted some highly-rated recruits. There were some top high school prospects on campus, like 5-star CB Bryce West and 4-star S Aaron Flowers, as well as USC transfer WR Gary Bryant.

While it’s always important to get these types of players to Eugene in the fall so that they can experience gamedays at Oregon, head coach Dan Lanning told me on Thursday that it’s just as important, if not more so, to get them on campus to see practices as well.

“Our best pitch in recruiting is when people come and watch that practice and they see the way we work,” Lanning said.

“They see how we develop talent and they see how much our guys enjoy practice. So it’s really important for us to take advantage of this beautiful place. Get people here where they can experience it firsthand and see it for themselves.”

After the weekend was over, a lot of those players took to social media to reflect on their visit,

Oregon offered Mothudi in January and is moving up quickly in his recruitment.

024 Valley Village (Calif.) Campbell Hall linebacker Kamar Mothudi has become one of the biggest recruits on the West Coast since the turn of the calendar year.

He made it out to Eugene over the weekend and enjoyed practically every part of the visit.

"What wasn't a highlight? The whole place was amazing," Mothudi told Ducks Digest. "Obviously the facilities and just being there was awesome, but seeing the players interact with the coaches was really good."

2024 Polynesian Bowl announces four-star WR Jordan Anderson

Newport Beach (Calif.) Newport Harbor junior wide out Jordan Anderson is the latest four-star prospect added to the 2024 Polynesian Bowl.

It’s a really strong year for wide receivers in the California ’24 class and Anderson is one of the very best, not just locally but nationally as well.

He’s a player we’ve been watching for a couple of years now and gets better and better every time we see him. In 12 games last season, he finished the year 47 catches for 984 yards (20.9 ave.) and 13 touchdowns.

He added 38 tackles while playing part time duty as a defensive back and has the skill set to play on either side of the ball in college but wide receiver is his meal ticket.

“I”m really excited about this opportunity, I’ve been wanting to play in the Poly Bowl for awhile now,” Anderson said. “I was actually going to go to the Poly Combine just to try and make it so to receive the invite now is a blessing.

On the recruiting front, Anderson has already locked in his commitment to Oregon and still feels very good about the Ducks.

“I still love Oregon, my commitment is very strong,” Anderson said. “I love everything about the program. I love the the team, the players, the coaches and the Oregon brand.

“I love the fan support and the football program in general and where it’s going. I’m planning to visit soon but don’t have a date locked in yet. The sooner the better though, I always love it there.”

Oregon Football 2024 Recruiting Hot Board: Wide Receiver

Wide receiver is fun to watch again for Oregon football fans now that the days of a Mario Cristobal ground-and-pound offense are long gone.

Troy Franklin made his case as one of the best wide receivers in college football with a breakout season for the Ducks in 2022.

Now Junior Adams is working to add more elite talent to his room in the 2024 class after adding four talented wideouts in the 2023 cycle.

Transfers Traeshon Holden and Tez Johnson are enrolled and 2023 signee Ashton Cozart is going through spring practice. Jurrion Dickey is expected to join the team in the summer.

Ducks pick up prediction to land 4-star OT after weekend visit

It appears that new Oregon Ducks offensive line coach A’lique Terry is putting in some work early on in his tenure.

One of the main reasons Terry was brought to Eugene in order to take over for Adrian Klemm, who left for a job in the NFL with the New England Patriots, was to keep the high level of recruiting up on the offensive line. So far, it appears that’s working.

After a big visitor weekend in Eugene, the Ducks have picked up a prediction to land 4-star offensive tackle Bennett Warren, a 6-foot-7, 315 pound player from Texas.

Where Ducks' 2024 recruiting class stands after rankings shake-up

While we get settled in the middle of the spring football season for the Oregon Ducks, recruiting is starting to pick up across the nation. Already we have seen a number of high-profile visits to Eugene over the past couple of weeks, and more will continue to take place as Dan Lanning and his crew ramp up for the annual spring game on April 29.

Another thing that recently took place in the recruiting world is a rankings update across the board. Both 247Sports and On3 recently went through and updated where the top prospects in the 2024 class stand both in the Top247 and the On300.

So where does that leave the 5 players who are currently committed to Oregon? Let’s take a look.

4-star OT Max Anderson puts Ducks among top schools

The Oregon Ducks continue to pick up steam when it comes to recruiting on the offensive line front. While the Ducks picked up a prediction to land 4-star OT Bennett Warren earlier in the week, they now just landed in the top 8 schools for 4-star OT Max Anderson as well.

Anderson is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 199 player in the 2024 class, and the No. 13 offensive tackle. He also listed schools like Michigan, Ohio State, Alabama, and Georgia among his final schools.

Currently, there is a prediction from 247Sports for him to end up committing to the Michigan Wolverines.

We will see over the coming months if he ends up taking a trip out to Eugene to check out the Ducks.

One School Leads for Elite CB Miles Lockhart Entering Spring

Miles Lockhart is one of the defensive backs out West and has been on Oregon's radar for a long time.

Including Oregon, Lockhart said he's hearing the most from a trio of schools.

"Oregon, Utah and Ohio State. Those are the three that come after me the most. That's why they're my top three cause I'm just really big on relationships, how they treat me. If you treat me good I'm gonna want to be at your school and come after you guys as well."

He has a few schools in mind for visits this spring, with one being a recent offer in January.

"I have Ohio State locked in for April 10 for spring practice and I'm trying to make it up to Oregon actually or maybe their spring game or just a practice," Lockhart said. "Just trying to figure out those dates. I may also go up to Wisconsin as well, go check out a practice and get a little visit in."

When it comes to the quarterback position, the Oregon Ducks are still actively working to get their guy in the 2024 class. There is some positive momentum on that front, though, with 4-star QB Air Noland announcing his top schools on Saturday and keeping Dan Lanning’s squad in the mix.

Jordan Anderson Named 247Sports Alpha Dog at OT7

One of Oregon's top commits has been putting everyone on notice this offseason. Wide receiver Jordan Anderson is one of the top offensive playmakers in the country. He's always carried himself with a confidence that he can beat any defensive back that's lined up in front of him.

The 2024 Oregon Ducks wide receiver pledge out of Newport Beach (Calif.) Newport Harbor has been tearing up camps and 7on7 tournaments throughout the country lately and that trend continued in Texas this past weekend.

Gorney's predictions: Where will the top 10 uncommitted RBs land?  Oregon favored for Washington's top prospect.

cbxfjri3vviaiankpbxl

Every time the Seattle (Wash.) O’Dea four-star running back is in Los Angeles, he makes his way over to USC and has an excellent trip. So the Trojans are definitely a major contender in his recruitment. But Oregon still feels like the team to beat since he’s so comfortable there, has a great relationship with the staff and is very familiar with the place.

Considering Washington’s success this past season and Jason Brown knowing a bunch of players there as well, the Huskies should be considered high in this race as well.

Prediction: Oregon

Four-star Quinton Martin is the highest-ranked uncommitted running back in the 2024 class.

2024 Oregon Football Recruiting Class

Tracking the latest names committed to play for Dan Lanning and the Ducks.

After signing the Pac-12's top recruiting class in 2023, Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks are looking to raise the standard in his second full recruiting cycle as head coach in Eugene.

The 2023 recruiting class was very heavy on defensive players, so we could see the trend switch and favor an emphasis on offense in 2024.
