NJDuck Author Moderator No. 3 Share Posted March 17 Ducks tinkering with Jamal Hill at linebacker this spring Jamal Hill has spent the first four years of his college career as a defensive back, this spring he'll get a look at a new position. Oregon head coach Dan Lanning acknowledged that the staff will give Hill, who has 22 career starts at safety or nickel, a look at linebacker during the months of March and April. "If we can be our best team with Jamal at linebacker we're going to work Jamal in that position," Oregon's coach explained. "If we think we need him at quarterback, we're going to move him to quarterback. I'm not gonna really give out trade secrets. But wherever we can put guys in positions where they can help the team, that's what we're gonna look to do." Duck Fan 76 No. 4 Share Posted March 17 Here's a great interview of Marcus Harper on the O-line's spring prep. Harper is a pretty funny dude, lol, I was in stitches in parts. Sounds like the O-line is getting plenty of off-season work with sound nutrition which bodes very well for 2023's offense as a whole.
Pennsylvania Duck Moderator No. 5 Share Posted March 18 What is the most important game on Oregon's schedule in 2023? The Oregon Ducks don’t have the hardest schedule in the conference, but that doesn’t mean that they get a cakewalk either. ESPN recently went through and tried to identify the biggest games of the year for each team in the preseason top 25. For the Ducks, they picked the Week 7 matchup vs. the Washington Huskies. This will be a massive game for both Oregon and Washington, and both are fortunate enough to get their bye week leading up to the matchup in Seattle. I would venture to bet that both teams will be undefeated going into this game, which would make it the easy choice for Washington’s biggest game of the year as well. There is a deep-rooted history between Washington and Oregon, and it’s arguably the best rivalry in the pacific northwest. With both teams expected to be among the best in the nation in 2023, there’s no surprise that all eyes will be on this matchup once again. NJDuck Author Moderator No. 10 Share Posted Thursday at 03:41 PM Oregon Ducks positioned well in ESPN's Future QB Power Rankings We all know that when it comes to projected quarterback play in the 2023 college football season, the Oregon Ducks are as well-situated as almost any team in the nation. With Bo Nix coming back for one final collegiate season, the Ducks’ offense should be as good as any in a loaded Pac-12 conference, with Nix picking up some early Heisman Trophy buzz after his career season in 2022. While Oregon is set at the QB position for this season at the very least, they are also in an advantageous spot when it comes to the future, as well. Oregon Football: Ducks set up well in future QB power rankings DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM With Bo Nix returning in 2023, plus Ty Thompson and Austin Novosad representing the future, the Ducks’ QB outlook is strong. Pennsylvania Duck Moderator No. 11 Share Posted Saturday at 04:30 AM Predicting 10 teams that will avenge a crucial defeat from last year Few things in life are sweeter than revenge and there will be plenty of that throughout the 2023 season. As we inch closer to the upcoming season, here are 10 teams that will avenge a crucial loss that was suffered during the 2022 season. You always want to beat an opponent that got the best of you the year before, but some losses sting more than others. This list consists of teams that are looking for revenge after suffering defeat to a rival or one that halted its shot at a trip to the College Football Playoff, meaning that avenging an upset can be satisfying. This list is more constructed on losses that deterred 2022 goals. With the College Football Playoff set to expand in 2024, revenge will fade because teams can afford to suffer more losses than before. Bitterness can be a poor personality trait, but it'll be missed in college football when that change is made. Predicting 10 teams that will avenge a crucial defeat from last year 247SPORTS.COM ... Pennsylvania Duck Moderator No. 12 Share Posted Saturday at 01:37 PM The 20 Pac-12 football games I can't wait to watch in 2023 With the number of good teams that will be fighting for supremacy out west, it makes for an incredibly intriguing slate of conference games. There’s a longstanding mantra of “Pac-12 Canabalism” that has grown over the years, which aptly describes how the conference can’t get out of its own way, with the top teams not being able to reach the highest level in the nation because the middling and bottom-tier teams are dangerous enough to knock them off at any point in the season. That sentiment could be more true this year than any other, with arguably 4 teams at the top who could compete for a spot in the College Football Playoff, but another handful of competent teams behind them that could play disruptor any given week. In the end, it’s going to make for an incredibly entertaining season, and one that will feature must-watch games almost every weekend from September to December.
