  1. Past hour
  2. These guys take offense at your characterization of the NCBWA:
  3. Followup to the NCBWA rankings posted this week, # 6 Oregon State, # 10 UCLA and # 19 Oregon. These guys are being lazy in their weekly ranking of schools. These numbers are the current RPI for this week. As you mentioned previously, Oregon swept OSU and took two out of three against the Bruins. I doubt these clowns know that. And Iowa has an RPI of #67. Here is a break down of Oregon's wins. QUAD ONE QUAD TWO QUAD THREE QUAD FOUR 9-1 4-2 16-7 9-3
  4. Yes, feels a bit like softball’s tourney game against Michigan: a strong, traditional B1G opponent that will likely feel obligated to put the new comers in their place, and try to stop the onslaught on B1G championships. Finding agreement in the polls is about as rare as an unassisted triple play.
  5. That's tough, Washington. You had a chance at a Natty, then your coach left, you were a middle step for DeBoer.
  6. We don't have a reason to say this very often, Go Northwestern!
  7. Today
  8. The author of the article is correct. The way for UCLA and OBD to prove it is to win. It would be nice if a few of the top seeds lost and UCLA and OBD ended up hosting Super Regionals. It's always good when A & M loses.
  9. CBS Sports Post-Spring Ranking of the B1G. Big Ten post-spring power rankings: Ohio State on top; will tough schedule stunt Wisconsin's growth? - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Scanning the Big Ten landscape ahead of the 2025 season with spring practices in the rearview
  10. THANK YOU for that...sorry I was so lazy to not look it up, and I appreciate it when someone else does. Boy that explains a ton, as Oregon seems to be on everybody's dart board among writers at other schools.
  11. The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) was founded in 1962, is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists. (That says it all right there) The officers of the NCBWA are affiliated with the following universities... Troy, Dayton, Arizona State, Penn State, West Virginia, Liberty, East Carolina, North Texas and Baylor. I wouldn't put too much stock in their rankings. D1 Baseball is the best option.
  12. Gotta love this question given to John Canzano... Q: Were the stadium lights at the University of Washington baseball field intentionally turned off in their game vs. Warner Pacific because they were losing to an NAIA team? — David Gressett A: Washington suffered a loss to Division III Pacific Lutheran earlier in the season. Warner Pacific led the Huskies 5-4 through six innings. The lights went out. The game was suspended. I like to give programs the benefit of the doubt, even though it looked suspicious. Social media jumped on it, naturally. One person tweeted: “Respect the move. I always turn off the Xbox right before my little brother beats me in Madden.”
  13. But wait! Now Perfect Game ranking REALLY messes up the average with....
  14. The NCBWA poll, (I don't know who they are) have consistently ranked us the worst over the season, and their rankings this week have: No. 6 Oregon State No. 10 UCLA No. 19 Oregon Did an Oregon fan pee-in-their-punchbowl? The Ducks swept Oregon State all four games, and took the series from UCLA...and I have no explanation. So the Ducks are No. 5, No. 7, No. 9....and No. 19th?
  15. Oregon Ducks Predicted To Land 4-Star Recruit Messiah Hampton Over Miami, Syracuse The Oregon Ducks are gaining momentum in recruiting the class of 2026. The Ducks are the current favorites to land four-star wide receiver Messiah Hampton over the Miami Hurricanes and Syracuse Orange. Hampton had an official visit with Oregon over the weekend. Oregon coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks are targeting four-star wide receiver Messiah Ham
  16. As if this last weekend was not enough?
  17. Oregon Ducks, Notre Dame, Cal Pushing For 4-Star EDGE Recruit Troy Bowens The Oregon Ducks hosted 2027 four-star edge rusher Troy Bowens over this past weekend and after a successful visit, the Ducks soared up his recruitment list. Oregon coach Dan Lanning and is battling with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish for Bowens' services. Oregon Ducks, Notre Dame, Cal Pushing For 4-Star EDGE Recruit Troy Bowens WWW.SI.COM The Oregon Ducks have been ramping up their recruiting activity in the 2027 cycle while also adding to the 2026 class with five-star defensive line recruit Rich
  18. Kudos to Payton, Keep Coming! QUACK! Payton Pritchard steps up for Celtics in Game 3 win vs. Knicks, and it goes far beyond his 3-point shooting - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM The Sixth Man of the Year came up big at MSG
  19. The USA TODAY rankings have Oregon at No. 7, Oregon State at No. 10, and UCLA at No. 15 with no other B1G team ranked other than the two of us. I think 30Duck is right in that the Ducks have to sweep Iowa, and win the B1G Tournament to have a shot at a Super-Regional, and we have not seen the worst of the rankings to come out yet. Now THAT is a great catch!
  20. Gimme the Top 5 B1G Coaches. 2nd place Danno has Day in his sights BIG Ten Football: Ranking the top 5 coaches in the conference heading into the 2025 season SATURDAYBLITZ.COM The Big Ten has won back-to-back National Titles, with long-time rivals Michigan and Ohio State also winning titles. 21. At one time...the majority of their opponents had barely won over 40% of their games, and that was 2/3rds the way through the season. They have good pitching, but Washington took two out of three from them, and Oregon State did not lose there so...I believe we are the better team--but have to show it.
  22. That's good to see our Ducks will be televised this weekend. Not only did the Hawkeyes lose twice to Bevis and also twice to the degenerate Huskies, they lost three of four to lowly Washington State. The Cougars have a dismal record in the Mountain West Conference at 11-16, .407% and an overall record of 18-32 .360% and yet three of those wins came at the hands of the Hawkeyes. Oregon should roll over these guys. Once again I'm having to root for our 'Little Brother' this weekend. They have a game against the Portland Pilots and then a three game series against the Long Beach State Dirtbags. Their Big West Conference record is also bad at 15-15 .500% and overall at 22-27 .449%. All games are in Corvallis. With OSU winning out, it makes are four game sweep of them more impressive. Can't wait for the weekend to get here. Go Ducks!
  23. The author of this article argues that both UCLA and OBD were hosed.
  24. Softball Ws and Ls. NCAA softball tournament winners, losers, snubs from 2025 selection show WWW.USATODAY.COM The 64-team field was set for the 2025 NCAA softball tournament. Here's a look at the winners, losers and snubs from Sunday's selection show:
  25. Until this transfer portal situation gets cleared up, I can't look at a roster until August and be convinced all the guys on the roster will be season long contributors. An injury to a key starter at a place like Oregon, Ohio State or Georgia would make me nervous if I was a Washington State or Beavis. Washington State has lost it's last two starters at QB in Ward and Mateer. Lane Kiffin has lived in the portal. FSU tried to do the same but old stone faced Norvell butchered it. How can I get excited for a recruiting or transfer class when nothing is set in stone? Until guidelines are put in place and a commitment is a commitment. I will put little faith in class rankings unless it's at a few select places where the coach and program are at a point where you can't transfer to a better situation like Oregon, Georgia or Ohio State. How long until we see trades? Imagine Lanning giving up a future scholarship to Alabama or Texas for a starting CB before a playoff run.
