  2. Oregon absolutely needs to host a Regional...hopefully instead of Oregon State. Oregon being Mo.2 at the Corvallis regional would be another case of OBD being absolutely screwed in a Playoff. The football was format and Oregon was unlucky enough to be No.1. But if Oregon's season goes the rest of the way as we expect it to, then seeding them No.2, in Corvallis, would be ridiculous. The other parallel of course would be that Coach Lanning said, Coach Was would see this a "great opportunity" and he'd be right.
  3. Everything going right is not unique to the Navy Seals, and everything definitely didn't go right when the Ducks won the first game. But Day can philosophize however he wants. Osu2 played great in the Rose Bowl, for a myriad of reasons, OBD didn't offer any resistance.
  4. Oregon's RPI has climbed to No. 27, the best all season. Even with that...the Ducks are a Regional No. 2 seed and projected to go to Corvallis--again. Our Quad 1 wins are great, but our Quad 2 & 3 losses are not. A No. 2 Regional seed means that Oregon is NOT in the top 16 in the nation? I hope this lights a fire under the team to go on a winning streak that makes a Regional hosting impossible to deny. PK Park Needs to Host!
  5. Out doing some early shopping, saw a Beav fan and his son, looked to be around 8. The kid pointed at me and kind of smiled...like maybe he wished there was a transfer portal for fans. Dad, grabbed his arm, not hard or anything, and they went off in another direction.
  6. I think that is an excellent observation, as an ERA won't always tell the full story. While it is 2.51....if he pitches as he did against those aforementioned two teams--it would help offset the home field advantage!

  8. MSU website said that Dzierwa is starting game 1 even though the last to series' he was the day 2 starter. Both times he got roughed up a little; Ohio St- 4 inn, 6 hits, 6 runs, 5 er Mich- 6 inn, 10 hits, 6 runs, 3 er He is obviously a good pitcher but are his stats a little inflated by playing lower quality opponents? Plus they have lost 4 in a row and Oregon has won 4, confidence a real big deal in baseball. Go Ducks!
  9. PODCAST: Zac Neel of DucksWire Joins For Oregon Football Spring Takeaways Oregon’s spring game drew nearly 40,000 fans to Autzen Stadium in Eugene, as we got a closer look at what Dan Lanning and the Ducks have in store for the 2025 college football season. On this episode on the Ducks Dish Podcast, ScoopDuck’s Max Torres sits down with Zac Neel of USA Today’s DucksWire to discuss takeaways from Oregon spring football practice. Oregon may be lacking starting experience, but Will Stein’s quarterback room is still one of the better ones in the country with four scholarship quarterbacks in Dante Moore, Austin Novosad, Luke Moga and Akili Smith Jr. Moore and Novosad are clearly at the top of the depth chart, but Moga and Smith also showed promise. Moga has clearly taken a step in his development, while Smith looked poised and collected in his first taste of college football. Max and Zac also discuss Oregon’s young, but talented secondary. Rashad Wadood and Chris Hampton lose all of their starters from a season ago, but there’s a lot of promising options to piece together. Fortunately they have a couple of experienced transfers in Theran Johnson and Dillon Thieneman to raise the floor of the group. But how much will be see of true freshmen 5-stars Trey McNutt and Na’eeem Offord? Hopping back to the offense, the Ducks should field another talented offensive line, but just because you have top transfer portal prospects doesn’t promise anything. A’lique Terry has proven himself to be one of the best and brightest offensive line coaches in college football, but if the 2024 season taught us anything it’s that there are more than likely to be some bumps in the road along the way. And lastly, Oregon has another embarrassment of riches in Ra’Shaad Samples’ running back room and the Ducks are doing all they can to secure a commitment from 4-star Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt on Sunday.

  12. Makes me wonder what happened to Ross James in the off season? Seems like he found his way into DL's dog house. It also suggests that you better not lose your edge & dedication during the off season if you want to see the field on this team!
  13. The Friday starter for Michigan State has an incredible 2.51 ERA compared to Oregon's Grayson Grinsell's respectable 2.97 ERA, so this looks like a pitchers duel shaping up. My hope is that our batters find a way to get to their pitcher, as we did against the great UCLA and Oregon State Friday Night starters. The Spartan record of 23-19 is padded with a ton of small schools, or weak leagues. We thought Columbia of the Ivy League would challenge the Ducks, but our batters tore them up and Michigan State played Harvard and Cornell. This was on top of playing Western Michigan, Monmouth, Western Carolina, Winthrop, etc. In conference play, Michigan State lost to UCLA 15-9, lost their series with Iowa 2-1, got swept four games by Michigan, lost their series to Illinois 2-1, swept by Indiana 3-0 in their series, but won their series by a 2-1 margin against Northwestern and Penn State. In the end...all the prior scores don't matter; the Spartans will be hyped out-of-their-mind to beat the No. 6 team at home before their crowd, and Oregon will have their hands full. Let’s get it done Ducks! SIDEARM Integrations GODUCKS.COM Ducks coming off a season-series four-game sweep of Oregon State
  14. 5-Star Jared Curtis, 4-Star Kayden Dixon-Wyatt ‘Leaning’ To Commit To Oregon Ducks The Oregon Ducks and coach Dan Lanning are in tight recruiting battles with the Georgia Bulldogs and Ohio State Buckeyes for quarterback Jared Curtis and wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt. Recruiting expert Tom Loy gives Oregon the edge for both of them. 5-Star Jared Curtis, 4-Star Kayden Dixon-Wyatt ‘Leaning’ To Commit To Oregon Ducks WWW.SI.COM The Oregon Ducks are predicted to land both five-star quarterback Jared Curtis and four-star wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt according to national recruiting a

Oregon softball looking to make history this weekend at Jane Sanders Stadium No. 3 Oregon (45-5, 17-2) will look to win a regular Big Ten championship this weekend when they host Michigan State (15-27, 5-14). 20. I thought the same thing when I saw this. He sounded pretty upset about the punting.
  21. Thank you Charles for the incredible updates during games! Your very timely reporting is impeccable and is making me a fan of a game that was never high on my list.
  22. It is incredible to think of how the bullpen only gave up two runs during the Oregon State series, when there were games in the season where the bullpen gave up more than that in one inning!
  23. I think the Ducks are in great shape. Of course that means little. I just saw a projected bracket, and it had the Beavs hosting a Regional...and the Ducks were No.2 Insanity? Yes. But The Beavs still have the respect that goes with winning a couple Natty's. I'm not really worried about the Duck's chances if this somehow plays out though. The pitching is coming around. 2 out o f3 against Ucla. In the 4 games against the Ducks, the Beavs offense never got on track. In their best game, the one in Corvallis, half of their 4 runs came from a WP and a very uncommon error. Part of the reason the pitching is coming round is the defense. The Baltimore Orioles set the record for having 4 20 game winners in the same season; Brooks Robinson played 3rd. Now, Carter Garate might not be Brooks, but in the last half dozen games for sure, he's been a vacuum. 4 DP's against the Beavs in game 4, that shows that 2nd base and short are getting it done to. The OF hasn't really been tested too much, pitchers forcing the batters to hit it on the ground. Offense? yeah, the national leader in home runs is a Ducks, Mason Neville. At 1st base, Jacob Walsh is Oregon's career leader, he hit a home run in each of the games against the Beavs, and he hasn't been caught stealing yet, 6-6. It's not just home runs either, Coach Was, like Lanning, can multitask, long ball, or short ball, The Ducks are very aggressive, and no easy out, 1 thru 9. 2 of 3 against the Bruins, 4 in a row over the Beavs. Now, it's at 10th place Michigan State. I'm confident that the team has its head on straight. They know that every game left is the most important, they won't 'be looking ahead, or playing scared. Just do it!
  24. My Duck-Buddies...our beloved Diamond Ducks are at a major crossroads in the season, and the next three weeks will be highly entertaining, as well as nail-biting time. Coach Waz has said all season that we have much more upside, and yours-truly has written the same. For the four games against No. 7 Beavis...everybody, and especially the team saw that upside. When they pitch like that? Oregon can play with anyone, as we have great fielding, great hitting, but our pitching has been "uneven" prior to the Oregon State series. This team has been inconsistent this season losing a half-dozen games that they should NOT have lost; will they return to that lower level, or continue playing as they did against the Beavers? I would like to think the latter because the rewards are right in front of them. With 11 games left--if the Ducks win say, nine of them? Oregon has a real shot at hosting a regional. But if they do better AND win the B1G Tournament? They have a shot at hosting a Super-Regional...and it not like they have to maintain form for next two months. Nope, the next couple of weeks decide the season... We have three at Michigan State, two mid-weeks against St. Marys, host the Bastard-Huskies next weekend, and then travel to Iowa City to play the Hawkeyes. (Then the B1G Tournament) Can our guys get over the mental hump to win the B1G and get NCAA recognition? Jason Reitz As always, this comes down to pitching, and we have been fortunate to have a couple of pitchers get over slump and return to form in time for the UCLA and the Oregon State series. We have a few others who need to return to form, (I'm looking at YOU, Will Sanford) as we need all-hands-on-deck for this stretch run. I like how our pitching coach "Hawk," (Blake Hawksworth) has really figured out our pitchers and knows when to pull them or let them continue. Recent examples were with Jason Reitz and Will Sanford, as both ran into trouble in an inning,....but would the return for the next inning? They both did, and in the case of Reitz, he got over his issues in the prior inning and pitched well for 2.3 more innings which meant SO MUCH in the game. But Sanford returned, walked a couple guys and still showed the lack of control of his pitches, and thus got pulled. In fact Hawk will pull pitchers right away if he does not like what he sees. Dream-on Beavis! (Ryan Cooney gets a double-play!) In the Tuesday night game in Corvallis--the Ducks went through SEVEN pitchers, as Hawk was looking for who was good on that evening. Santiago Garcia has been superb as a closer in other games, but came out flat in Corvallis, and thus was pulled immediately for Seth Mattox who closed out the game. Heck, Cole Stokes was originally brought in to close the game...and he looked shaky, thus the Garcia entrance. Hawk knows his pitchers, and a big element in all this is that Oregon could not do these quick replacements last year, because we did not have enough healthy pitchers in 2024. Waz went out with some NIL money got a boatload of pitchers, and it is paying off. The Ducks have had some GREAT infields since bringing back Baseball in 2009, but I believe this infield is the best I've seen. What do you think about all these points I've brought up?
