Austin Novosad turning heads in QB competition for Oregon football Coming into spring camp and eventually this fall for the 2025 college football season, it's been, fairly or unfairly, assumed by many fans that Dante Moore will be the starting quarterback for the Oregon Ducks. But redshirt sophomore Austin Novosad didn't come to Oregon to just hold a clipboard and watch from the sideline. Novosad wants to play and he's doing everything he can to make sure he's does just that. His efforts and development on and off the field haven't gone unnoticed by head coach Dan Lanning or the coaching staff. "I think the guy's just a winner. I mean, he has become really comfortable in our system," Lanning said. "He understands it, you know. And I think that Coach Stein and the offensive staff do a good job of continuing to push that, but he's just really level-headed." I received a text yesterday from a very loyal Oregon fan who told me that he saw in Instagram that Oregon State is now going to the Big-12? I started thinking about all the ramifications, of all the Pac-12 money going to the Cougars, how Beavis would drop all their work done when a good offer came their way? (Just like Oregon, who they condemn?) Then I did a Google Search; nothing came up. I checked with one of the largest Oregon State messages boards....nothing. But I did learn that SEVEN players of the Beaver Mens Basketball team are in the portal, and word was--the women in Corvallis are leaving their team as well, and leaving HC Scott Rueck in a tough spot? Holy Crap! Then I checked on that, and found that EIGHT members of the OSU Womens Team are transferring out! So Beavis, do you believe in KARMA, NOW? (Good gosh, I enjoy being brutal on Beavis....)

You may not have noticed the menu bar in the header. There is a new item called “News.” We invited you to explore this section. When you click on the word “News,” you will see an index of multiple links to sports news sites for your enjoyment! During the football season, podcasts were included with the game for that week. Podcasts still are taking place, just not as often. I also have noticed that the podcasts now are covering more than just football. For instance, the one following includes some talk about basketball. Those podcasts will now be posted under this thread as they occur. To see the previous podcast thread click Here as we will keep the thread to no more than 50 podcasts at a time. Check back often for some informative listening. This Thread is for Podcasts ONLY. You can always start a new thread with any of these podcasts for discussion.

BK has had a tough time since he left Notre Dame because he felt he had a better chance at a Natty in the SEC. He tried to affect an accent to go with his new environment, that didn't go well, after a particular loss he butchered John McKay's classic, "What do you think of your team's execution?"

Hawkeyes Will Be a Very Tough Away Game for the Ducks
Jon Joseph replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Thank you, Mr. Editor. I'm glad it's Melbet and not, Malbet. Two errors, both on Me. Iowa competes in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), while South Dakota is a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) team. This was easier when we had D1, D2, and D3. Duh. BATTER THE BOBCATS! -
Hawkeyes Will Be a Very Tough Away Game for the Ducks

It looks like this will be, "the tough" game this season, like Wisconsin was in 2024. I don't see a loss, and by this time, Moore, or Novosad, should be settled. Ferentz should have the B1G record, so won't have to deal with that, both teams will be coming off Byes. Oregon has the Golden Gophers at home next, Iowa goes to USC. -
Week 5 for OBD at Penn State is B1G for OBD. Penn State is one of two preseason ranked teams on the 2025 schedule. The other opponent is Indiana in Autzen. PSU and Indiana in Week 7, are back-to-back B1G games for Oregon. After consuming three huge cupcakes in Happy Valley, PSU has the week off before playing the Ducks. Before traveling to Beaver Stadium to play PSU, OBD plays the Beavers in Autzen. Both OBD and the Hoosiers are off in Week 6. OBD will be PSU's first test of the season. To the chagrin of PSU fans, last season's game vs. Ohio State was a B1G Noon kickoff in Beaver Stadium, not a Whiteout. If FOX stays with the same broadcast 'strategy' it used in 2024, the Oregon game will kickoff at Noon Eastern. CBS had dibs on the B1G 3:30 KO time it had in the SEC. NBC generally batted clean up with the best B1G late game. This 'strategy' led to the B1G being blown away by ESPN's coverage of the SEC. Wisely, the most impactful SEC game of the week occassionally kicked-off at 3:30 PM Eastern but on most occasions the SEC's prime games were played in prime time, 7:30 Eastern KO. In Week 5, the next B1Ggest game is Michigan at USC. I expect this game will KO at 7:30 Eastern. If as I expect, conference revenue distribution in the B1G, as it is now the case in the ACC, will be based on the number of viewers who watch a team's games. If this is the case and the B1G stays with FOX for the next media deal, B1G commissioner Petitti best negotiate more control over KO times. More folks would turn into a Penn State matchup at 12:30 or 4:30 Pacific rather than at 9 AM Pacific. For the greatest impact on both teams, I'm going first with LSU at Clemson. Brian Kelly in his four seasons at LSU has not won an opening game. Like Ole Miss last season, LSU opened up the wallet and is 2025's No. 1 ranked portal picker. With Dabo generally eschewing the portal, this is a prove-it game for Dabo and Clemson. Both teams come into this game with experienced QBs, which is rare in CFB in 2025. The Clemson Tigers close with the rivalry game at South Carolina and need to notch a win over the SEC in Clemson's Death Valley. Next, I think the game with the second longest season impact will be Notre Dame at Miami. Will Beck be all that for the Canes? Will Freeman be able to find a quality QB. Has Miami's D improved under the new DC hired away from Minnesota? Can Miami recover from an opening home loss? It better be able to because Florida visits in Week 4. Texas at Ohio State is the headliner, no doubt. But if the game is competitive I don't think the loser will be penalized up to and including Selection Sunday. Great topic. Thank You! Enjoy the CBB Championship.

Is that Oregon vs Penn State game at night? I heard it was the whiteout game since they aren't hosting Ohio State this year.
